wow you guys keep adding new things to the list of bands nirvana supposedly copied every year. there is no evidence of kurt having any relations with the replacements whatsoever, you faggots are really grasping at straws now

Bleach is more melodic than any Melvins, more like why would you not listen to Bleach if you like early Melvins?
>>
>>60974139
About a Girl is more melodic than any Melvins, the rest of the album is Kurt trying to hang out at the cool kids table.
>>
>>60974067
If you've read anything Kurt actually said in interviews about his own band, he lists those bands and many others specifically. He name dropped constantly. He described Nevermind as sounding like Cheap Trick.

I'll never understand why people think In Utero is the best. It's a half-assed noise rock album which sounds all too similar to Nevermind, Bleach is the only true grunge album.

It's got it's own style and doesn't sound like they're ripping off sonic youth.
>>
my favorite is incesticide
>>
>>60973915
Bleach is just juvenile lyrics set to sub-Melvins riffs. You'd be better off just listening to Ozma. In Utero is far superior in every way.
>>
>>60974913
I didn't mention they were ripping off Sonic Youth, or anyone for that matter. I say half-assed because it was Kurt trying to make a noise rock album but at the same time making something that the Nevermind fans would like. Christ, he even had two of the singles remixed to make them sound more radio-friendly.
>>
>>60975398
this, in utero is best, followed by incesticide
>>
>>60974192
You do realize Kurt was very sarcastic in many interviews and can rarely be taken seriously in them as he often later contradicts himself.
>>
>>60975482
I don't think he really gave a shit what the Nevermind fans liked honestly. I think he was trying to break away from that, but being bound to the record label really fucked that up.

I think it's more that you like how Bleach works as a raw(er) grunge album with a collection of grunge songs to kick back to. I know I can't really convince you of this, but Nevermind and In Utero's songwriting is far more focused and interesting compared to Bleach.

Good choices. Sometimes I think No Code and Vitalogy are a toss up for me. Vs does have some of their best songs too.

Vs is the best thing they did imo. Never been a huge PJ fan but I respect what they do. I'd much rather go to a PJ show that a fucking Foo Fighters show.

>>
>>60980871
I feel that. I saw PJ live once, it's definitely worth it. Even if you're not a big fan like I am, they sure as hell give the crowd their money's worth. When I saw them they did nearly 3 hours plus two full encores. Then a few minutes later, after the lights came on and most of the crowd was gone, Eddie came back by himself with an acoustic guitar and asked those of us who were still there if we wanted to hear one more. He played Indifference.

Holy shit you're such a fucking dumbass, you know that? You are the bottom of the Earth. The people nobody wants to talk to. You spend so much time listening to shitty music yet you think it's good. You spend your time obsessing about people and posting them on the internet to look cool yet in reality if people in real life saw that what would they think? They think you were a loser, you fucking loser. You aren't interested in starting a discussion with me? It's probably because you don't even know how. I'm not retarded, I'm telling the truth. Know what you're doing before you do it. The way you're acting now is so childish I can't even begin to explain. Listen to a mature record that isn't a totally exaggerated mess of emotions and poor musical merit. Which is what you listen to now. How about some avant-garde jazz? Try A Love Supreme, it's pretty entry level. You probably won't get it though because you're a worthless sack of shit. You will never amount to anything in life. Go outside, take a walk, don't think about your edgy so deep music for once. Once you've done that, come back and try to look at what you're doing right now. Maybe after a few times you'll see that you're a complete child and need to improve. Or maybe you have a serious mental issue. Maybe Autism? I'm guessing that's it. Seek a doctor or therapy to help that out. Or maybe you don't. Maybe you're just a close minded retard with no understanding of anything at all.

Don't even try to bring this argument anywhere else. I won't respond, or I'll think of something to get you mad since you're easily made upset. This discussion is over, sorry loser.

I cannot begin to describe the disdain I have for this sort of music. To be honest, if I focus really hard on the instruments, shut out the vocals and pretend that they were being sung by someone tolerable and with lyrics that aren’t embarrassing, I can potentially see why this isn’t bad. But the truth is that she is there, she is awful, she is unbearably moronic and she does ruin any little bits of skill that the drums or guitars bring in. After one of my friends declared Barnett his “new waifu” I decided to check this out, and after confronting him about this absolute nonsense, he made a comment along the likes of only enjoying it to impress girls at parties. This album is exactly the sort of think that those teenage girls who listen to “indie” as an image or a statement would lap up. They’ll talk about the bad vocals as “dylan-esque”, and will break into singing quotes from the frankly embarrassing lyrics whenever they can, because they’re SO ME XD, snapping up lines like “I want to wash out my head with turpentine cyanide” as if they’re extremely meaningful poetry. And jesus, I haven’t even mentioned the accent. If there was ever a convincing case for a nuke heading right to the middle of Australia’s eastern coast, this is it. An album filled with nonsense psuedo-meaningful ‘indie’ lyricism, complete with an image you’d expect one of those Sundance films advertised as indie (but actually aren’t), mostly forgettable instrumentation and songwriting, and one of the worst voices you’ve ever heard. Is there anything worse?

Just search out torrents for the 20th anniversary versions of In Utero and Nevermind. All the good stuff is on there. With the Lights Out boxset has a few previously unreleased gems including a couple of tracks from their first ever recording session with Dale Crover on drums.

I used to collect Nirvana bootleg CDs in the 90s back when a lot of this stuff really was hard to find. Good times, although I'm glad it's a lot easier to get a hold of now.
