But I'm getting sick of Thom's songwriting pattern of "loop minor key lick for 4 minutes under high pitched whiny singing" that happened all over his solo records and Atoms for Peace though. Hopefully it's a full band effort and doesn't resemble AfP.

Fucking garbage to be honest. It's pretty much the exact same boring as fuck guitar riff for the entire song. It's like Thom doesn't allow for anything besides his gay ass synths and dancing around like a faggot now.

A return to their earlier styles with a lot of creative driving guitar riffs. The whole synth/electronica rock shit got old real fast. It sounds good when they use it sparingly and has its place but this shit just sounds ridiculous. Maybe Jonny is just getting lazy?

I was thinking the same thing. I'll try to keep an open mind for what's to come and not get too caught up in the hype before release, but I like what I hear so far.

I wouldn't mind a mixture of IR's perfectionism and the dark atmosphere of Amnesiac. IR wasn't exactly a happy album but it's probably the most relaxed the band has sounded since The Bends. There wasn't a lot of that paranoia lying under the surface like with the 4 albums that preceded it, but I wouldn't mind seeing something like in OP's post that had that IR sound, but with a more sinister undercurrent. Maybe bring back shades of TKOL's krautrock worship while we're at it, albeit only shades as they can definitely afford to wear that a little less on their sleeves.

I agree. In Rainbows and Amnesiac I think are two out of Radiohead's discography that have the most refined sound in my opinion, so I think it would be sweet to get some of those elements. Of course, I'd like to see them move to newer territory with their new music, simply rehashing styles and ground that they've already covered is the absolute last thing I'd want.

Eh, some of these tracks that have been floating around for years now could salvage any midlife crisis misgivings to a degree. I'm pretty cool with tracks like Cut A Hole or Identikit myself. At worst, I'd expect a hit-or-miss album.
