You're probably just the type of moron to say something about Tumblr or whining with not a single clue of what he's talking about. But anyway, answering the OP.
There isn't really any other band like The Smiths, and that's because of a simple reason: no one quite has the perfect combination of band members they had. Morrissey, Marr, Rourke and, to a lesser extent, Joyce made the band. They are the reason it has that punch to it, be it their aggravations or partnerships, it was just a very unique team. Morrissey and Marr especially bounced amazingly well off each other and ever since they broke apart nothing they made has been as good as this -- Morrissey lacks the riffs, and Marr lacks Morrissey.
Legião Urbana is a good band, but their older albums bore me to death. Renato Russo would write great lyrics and then just murmur then over the least enthusiastic song ever. I can't tell many of their songs apart. You hear a single, five-second riff from any of the Smiths' songs and you instantly know which one. That's why they're so appealing.
