/mu/. Medium war time.
FILM vs. BOOKS vs. MUSIC vs. VIDEOGAMES
they are all enjoyable arts in their own rights.

this is actually right
Why do you people need to make everything a fucking competition? Not everything has to be superior to something.
Books > Music > Film >>>>> Video games

Music=Books>Film>>Vidya
Vidya is going up against art forms that have hundreds of years of history to disect and find "great" pieces. Honestly not fair. In terms of the potential of the medium it goes
Vidya>Books>Music=film
Film is the ultimate art form
Music is probably the most personal
Books are alright
Video games are a waste of time, outside of a few great ones
literature is pure ideology. it is medium tier art
videogames are an infant art that have not yet become self aware. it is low tier art
film comes closest to being lies perfected using the faulty eyes as they do. it is high tier art
music is totally inscrutable. it is god tier art
Music > Film > Books > Video Games
Literature>Music>>>>>>>>Film
Videogames are children's toys not art, so I didn't bother including them in the ranking.

Books = videogames = music = films but music is my favorite.
Music > Books >Film > Video games
Objective truth.

How's the view from that high horse of yours?
fashion(muh trends)<culinary (muh food must be healthy or you will die)< everything else
Movies = Music > Books > Vidya
I've never been a big reader.

Books = Film = Music >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Video Games

Vidya > film >>>>>>>>> music
Who the fuck still reads books?
>>60968256
Yes.

Music I value most. It's the most universally enjoyed out of the others. On top of hearing it, writing, composing, and especially, playing is a greater experience.
There's no performance in the enjoyment of film or literature other than the creators. Music that's written and recorded can be played live and listened to as a live performance. That can't be done with books or movies.
Video games are second best in my opinion. I could apply the same things I said about books and films with games but at least they're immersive and interactive and has the interpersonal benefit with multiplayer and competitive games especially.

You're a witless philistine.
>>60967840
TV > Music > Video Games > Books > Movies
>>60968531
his reasoning is completely solid.
>>60968464
don't you think that a piece of art is best left untouched in its natural state, unable to be exploited or detracted from by the player of the game who could play it in a way that removes the artistic value from it? Or does the freedom of choice play a critical role in differentiating vidya from the rest?

Book = Music (depending on the specific music or book one could be better either way) > film >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>video game

.
Opera trumps all others, including paintings, architecture, and murals.
Opera has poetry in the libretto, acting, set design, effects, music, and so much more. Its the synthesis of all art. There's a reason Wagner titled it the way he did, and that he almost exclusively wrote them.

>his reasoning is completely solid.
He literally inferred that literature isn't immersive.
Please don't tell me you're as dumb as he is.
Is chess art?
>>60968709
Yes, but it is not high art

You three are the only ones ITT who don't place video games in dead last.
It's a bold strategy Cotton, but will it pay off?
If books and/or music isn't your two top options then you are too pleb to ever make it.
anime>vidya>tv>film>books>movie>music
>>60968633
Opera is for fucking old people. Films already crushed your meme "art"
All video games are pandering, anti-art trash.
There will never be a good video game ever.

>>60970464
Opera is accessible you fucking pleb
it's also good
>>60968709
the best. like all art, it depends on the quality of its artist (players).
>>60970503
accessible as in you can have access to it not like in it's easy to get into it
>>60970305
Literal cancer
Literature > Music > Film > Video Games is the objectively correct ranking.
