NBND #72
>>60937682
Ooh I love that one.
NBND #73
>>60937682
This is pretty great this one. Does anyone else know of any lo-fi metal/noise collabs?
>>60937919
I dunno about collabs, but there's a whole blackened noise megadump in the archive
That's where I got that and plenty more
>>60937941
I'll take a look through, though I find that blackened noise generally focuses too much on the blackened part for my taste
>>60937907
definitely one of the best releases I've listened to this month so far
NBND #74
>>60938003
Off the top of my head, cause im on moble, some of the more noise oriented ones in there are the one with a Cyrillic name, wold, t.o.m.b., apator, and whichever one has the album "spear of gold and Seraphim bone"
>>60939256
>apator
I meant altars
>>60937907
This one is really really good.
>>60937919
Not a collab, but try Wold's last few records... Freermasonry is pretty ace.
>>60937919
Vomir/persistence in mourning it's a split with a funeral doom band but PiS is so lofi it's nearly noise on its own.
Are there any brick and mortar noise shops still open?
>>60939617
Hanson Records that OP posted
and RRRecords
>>60939650
I thought Hanson records closed?
>>60939617
hanson, rrrecords, posh isolation(only open once a week), sarvilevyt(the de facto freak animal records store) and some tokyo store whose name i cannot recall at the moment are the ones i am aware of
of course all these stock stuff outside of noise(there's no way a noise-only store could survive for long) but noise and general left-field material are the focus
>>60939653
you might be thinking of the hospital productions store
>>60939695
>you might be thinking of the hospital productions store
I am, thank you
>>60937919
Goatvargr
>>60939695
>of course all these stock stuff outside of noise(there's no way a noise-only store could survive for long) but noise and general left-field material are the focus
I figured as much. Even in a large city noise would be incredibly niche.
>>60940364
So who's been keeping a spreadsheet of their favourite releases of this year?
>>60940364
yeah, you know times are tough when stores can't even keep it going in places like london or paris or NYC
even the few stores that are still around do the vast majority of their noise-related sales through mail order
I brought this up in the last thread but is anyone interested in a #noise irc channel ?
>>60940758
I'm keen, but I'm not sure how active it would be.
>>60940597
I have a top 50 but just a general one for the year, not that much noise on it.
>>60940803
RIght now we have permanent noise threads it might just work.
>>60940758
Make sure it's called #harshnoisecoffee to refrence the comfiest /noise/ meme. I'd make it now but I'm studying for an important final
>>60941416
No the best /noise/ meme is proper European noise
>>60942366
I'm here bro.
It's been a while since I've been active in /noise/ threads. What did I miss ? What are hottest new releases ?
Tried doing a noise/ ambient/ drone track with my synth and a 4 track tape recorder.
What do you guys think?
>>60942508
Fuck forgot the link

How long have you been out of the loop? Did you see the new grunt, grim, consumer electronics, and prurient?
>>60942610
fucking yes
>>60942450
Also Vomir & Yoshihiro Kikuchi has been well received by these threads.
>>60942610
>don't fall victim to discogs sharks
Shit man, that's insane markup
I'm confused. Isn't Muslimgauze supposed to be noise ?
>>60943059
There are plenty of Muslimgauze tracks that are noisy, but no, not noise.
>>60943059
yeah like >>60943099 said it's important to make the distinction between something that's noisy and noise
although he certainly has some super harsh releases
>>60943059
nah
some of his way early stuff had a bit of an industrial edge to it but that's it as far as his relation to noise goes
>>60943125
>although he certainly has some super harsh releases
which ones?
>>60943099
Thank you for the clarification.
what noise can soundtrack my excruciating back pain
>>60943324
how much you'd rate that pain?
>>60943059
I have him in my "Power Electronics / Rhythmic Noise" folder if that helps.
Also, post your playlist for today's NBND.
>>60943474
Do you actually make a daily playlist? I just scroll through my library and choose whatever catches my eye
>>60943530
I just added a couple of things to my playlist for today. I'll add more once I'm through with it. I don't really plan anything and put in whatever I want to listen to.
>>60943431
eh, probably a 7
it's pretty sharp but not totally debilitating
>>60943576
maybe Pure - Fetor? But get original version from the tape, not that release. It's loop based not very harsh but dreamy noise.
>>60943653

Increasingly frustrating trying to find information about the stuff in the Noise Arch upload when nothing is tagged or organized properly and the only information is from Noise Arch itself.
Pic related: "Psychomania"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvNmDqkHir8
>>60944806
Is there enough information to get track numbers and names, artist names, and album names for everything? I'd be willing to try downloading that again if I know I'll be able to use all of the music.
>>60944806
Here ya be
http://www.discogs.com/PsychoMania-Untitled/release/850913
>>60945304
That's the problem. All the tracks in the archive are just the sides of the cassette. I'm finding some artist and album info on RYM, but some of these are really obscure. I'm splitting tracks up myself when I can find tracklists. Really good stuff in here though. White Hand, Herzliyya's Boardwalk String Sextet, There Are No Ridges in London, and Far from the Maddening Crowd I would recommend so far.
>>60945423
For some reason I couldn't find this on discogs originally. Thanks.
>>60945494
And out of nowhere a cassette rip of traditional Chinese opera appears.
Can we be friends, /noise/?

>>60944091
perfect noise record right there
>>60945494
Fuck it this shit is just too tempting to turn down.
this is the only place i feel at home
>>60946276
This split of theirs is totally underrated though
Is there any noise you find genuinely disturbing to listen to and not just because of dark aesthetics or cover art?
>>60940758
I'mma try to set this up when I get back from taco bell. I've never used an IRC before and I'm hella drunk cause I just finished finals but it can't be that hard right? if anyone has a favorite hosting site or whatever post it now pls.
>>60945494
Does anyone have rips of any other White Hand releases? Prologue/Epilogue is the only one I can find.
I think part of why I feel drawn to noise is that as a studio intern in a place that does 90% banal pop, folk or indie rock, it is so liberating to be able to engage with artists who deliberately break all the rules and celebrate the result
The vast majority of both musicians and engineers who I've worked with are totally insular when it comes to music and audio.. it's depressing

>>60942530
There's a sort of rumbling sound in the background which would sound good if it was higher in the mix, though I think that's just the sound of the tape hiss. If you recorded at a lower volume, and then dubbed that tape to another at a higher volume, it would increase the sound qualities of the tape in the final track.
what other music and art are you guys into? has noise and its philosophy changed the way you interact with it?
>>60946958
some tracks of Atrax Morgue's Esthetik of a Corpse are kinda discomforting to me
>>60948201
I've been into the visual arts forever, and I've included elements of sound and noise into my installation practice

>>60948953

>>60948905
I recommend this frequently, but Christian Cosmos' Unmaking. It's both noisy and meditative.
>>60948979
christian cosmos is so overlooked
as is RSE for that matter
i'm so glad this happens annually where i live
marco fusinato is excellent for this thread, except i've only ever seen him live and his art installations, never heard his albums
>>60948201
A large part of my aesthetic intrests are related to the aesthetic of noise music. I'm a big fan of gloomy industrialization and the darker end of psychedelia. For example I really enjoy gasper noe's filmography or movies like beyond the black rainbow. Also war little of visual art I've explored had been stuff like beksinski or h.r.giger. this trok me four trues and an houtrto type cause I'm hammered so apologies if this doesn't make sense.

I love being a noise musician and having a shitty gear, I can say things like
I only work with the most low quality recording devices

I found a couple of dl's, though there's more on slsk. I've been banned from there though, so I might just end up buying the tapes.

and what's the consensus on this?
i was really surprised by how much it had in common with the more obscure spectrum of hospital's catalog, barely any techno/club-friendly elements to it at all
solid work though, probably the best thing he's done as a recording artist up til now

for fuck's sake

I'm too scared of death to listen to Atrax Morgue or KRANIVM
>>60982593
it was alright, dunno if it was the quality of the cassette rip, but mine kept cutting out during certain tracks
very lo-fi and industrial, pretty quiet
one more to cross off the backlog list anyway

Brethren! Are you into SKIN CRIME? Obviously you have the murder series from his label. Just curious how you feel about his oeuvre though.
Are there any projects that focus on themes of religious and/or spiritual purity through noise? Sort of like an antithesis to the hedonistic and vulgar aesthetics typically used or co-opted by noise artists, and focuses mostly on using noise to achieve some sort of spiritual enlightenment? Is that too specific? Would anybody be interested in someone making a project similar to this?

blackhouse is a christian PE group

Interesting, checking them out now. From what I'm reading about them they fit the bill pretty well. Although I did have eastern religions in mind when posting, they definitely sound like something I would be interested in. Thanks.

>Although I did have eastern religions in mind when posting
static mantra is a "Czech hindu/buddhist themed HNW project"
