All parts written by Ruban, but yeah he's a secretly awesome bassist.
Some Violent Femmes songs have the bass carrying the melody, and it's pretty important in most of their work (most of which is criminally overlooked because of s/t, which is a great album, but c'mon).
Pretty much all Morphine songs do too, because it's drums, two string slide bass, and bari sax, and that's it. Plus Sandman was a genius wizard.
Rock, I'd go with Moving Pictures by Rush. Especially the song 'YYZ' check that cocksucker out my friend.
