I actually think his the best. He just has everything. Such a beautiful tone combined with his ability to fit in with pretty much every group and every Jazz genre. He is so goddamn versitile! can just play pretty much anything and just excel on it. Compare him to someone like Lee Morgan, that while having good tone and always bringing a lot of energy, he pretty much always plays the same stuff. For me Freddie Hubbard is the best trumpet player.
This has been my favorite as of late.
Oriental folk song is so incredibly beautiful.
And Armageddon is such an explosive ending.
Definitely not as refined as Speak no Evil or even JuJu, but still my favorite Wayne Shorter record.
I also love the shit out of all of the players. Elvin Jones is probably one of my favorite drummers. Not to mention Lee Morgan.

Dizzy Gillespie - Live at Newport
Really fun and chill album with an awesome cheerful crowd. Just good vibes all around filled with humor. Has a lot of Dizzy's introduction that add a lot to the lightness of the album. Also features the 18 Lee Morgan.
My favorite tracks are Manteca and Doodlin.
This was my first jazz album and i still like it a lot, but i don't listen to jazz very much tho

This is the GOAT no one knows
I was getting lessons once at a music shop when this talkitive old man starts talking about jazz with me. I was an 8th grader and no fucking 8th grader knows what jazz is so I just went with whatever he said. I was in middle school jazz band so I kinda had an idea but not really. "have you heard of Dave Brubeck?" we continue talking and he decided to buy me a DB CD. Gets it. Likes what I hear (Dave Brubeck Love Songs) never sees the man again.
I now own so much jazz, it's weird to think something so random could affect my life so dramatically.

I haven't pre-ordered the new album yet, but I'm moderately excited, mostly because I've got other recently received music that I'm hyped about. Discovering new music all the time has it's downsides, like limited funds for buying CDs. Another Gondwana-related release I'm expecting is the second Mammal Hands album, which is also slated for release early next year.
