Pic related for me. I picked up this pistol case for $11. It had the "pull and pluck" foam and I cut it to fit my Tascam DP006, a shitty mic, and my Boss DR 670 drum machine.
I keep my stomp-boxes and cables on the top layer. Shit looks nice as fuck.

Touring cases are extremely expensive and generally are a waste of money, yes, but having things in cases to keep them clean and safe during storage and transport makes perfect sense. I'm not a gigging or jamming musician, i just play for myself at home, but I still keep my shit in cases to protect them over the years of moving, storage, dust, moisture, etc. I would never buy a $400 travel case for audio gear because my shit doesn't go through baggage check and bus stations. Can any TR-8 owners explain what the tune does on the BD and SD 808 sounds? On an actual 808 they are tone controls, the BD tone is like a filter on the click, and the SD one is like a tune and timbre change.

While editing a certain part of a track, I set the loop section up and it works fine, but is there a way to skip to the start of the loop/play from the left indicator instantly? The TR8 and the dark energy have usb inputs. IDK if they send audio through usb but they will send midi.
You can get a usb to midi cable then a midi split box to hook up the volcas and ms20.
Also one thing to note is that this is just for sending control data, not audio.

Learn how to compress your sounds and spice up your drum patterns, like don't be afraid to throw some hi hat rolls or some offbeat kicks in. It makes for a much more dynamic and interesting composition. As it is it's pretty plain, add in some synths or another melody or something. There isn't really any tension or progression in it.

There's no real, concrete, correct way to approach it. I find it's best to think of a cool chord progression or melody first and build the song around it. As for future bass it's a lot of very tight, funky ass modulated basslines and crisp percussion sounds. Break down the elements of what you like about a track (for instance, how do the percussion sounds interact with and contrast with the deep bass sounds?) and try to replicate them.

Actually, there's a pretty neat, relatively unknown trick. If you take two mono midi tracks and pan them respectively hard left and right, you'll get stereo midi!
The downside is you have to get a special DIN 10pin cable.

Yeah, that's something to consider if the price is right, however I'd be fine with just at least pressure sensitivity and midi support. You're right though weighted keys probably could go a long way for learning piano though.

88 key is just huge and pricey... Unless you are a piano player, your never going to use all of those keys at once.
But if you are a pianist, don't get a midi controller. Get a used 88 key synth/keyboard from the 80s/90s with midi. Most likely built better and much cheaper.

Center generally, but a nice trick is to put a short stereo delay to pull it out of the center without ruining the symmetry of the mix. It's called the Haas Effect, whichever side hits the ear first is where you perceive the sound's direction. Obviously not only used for vocals, but it's a good compromise between panning and leaving something in the center.

Ah ok, that makes a lot of sense. I'm still learning structuring and arranging to be honest. For the longest all I knew was the bass follows the drums. My biggest problems right now is that something is always off sync or the finished song feels likes it's missing something.
