Do you listen to music that is sang in a language you don't know?
How did you come upon it?
What draws you to it?

I find it interesting that music that is spoken in a different language can still attract me. I guess it shows that lyrics aren't everything.

This was a song that happened to be from a channel that posted another album that I liked (Lou Reed), I decided to check it out and really enjoyed the voice of the singer and the music with it.

Yeah I do, all the time.
Just happened upon them like most other songs I find.

The girl in that link seems to be singing in English though, senpai.

That's a lovely song, thanks.
I love Portuguese. A majority of my foreign music is probably in Portuguese.

I first started looking for more Brazilian artists after I heard Seu Jorge's The Life Aquatic album. All the songs borrow melodies from David Bowie songs.

Damien Rice and Lisa Hannigan are Irish but I like their version of Waters of March.

This is in French, but I really like her voice.

Ahhh yes the Life Aquatic is in my top 10 favorite movies so I share the Seu Jorge love but I'm really into the the two other links :)

Well, all English music was like that to me before I learned to speak English, being a native French speaker.

I listen to a bunch of music in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German that I don't completely understand, but I can speak all those languages at a pretty basic/conversational language, so I still manage to get some understanding from it.

In term of languages I absolutely do not understand, er... Konono no°1 and Maximum the Hormone, I guess. Plus a whole bunch of Mongolian traditional music.

Nigger of mine. The Life Aquatic wasn't my favorite Anderson flick, but the soundtrack was absolutely beautiful. Jorge's low voice, in Portuguese, with the minimalist guitar instrumentation, it just fricking works.

Do you mean actual ''foreign'' music or just western pop/rock in local languages?
>>
To me anything in English is foreign music

And I do listen to a lot of music in languages I don't know, like Japanese, French, Spanish, Chinese, Russian and various little ass languages

>>60894925

One of my favorite albums, it's 3 disks and mostly spoken word. Even though I can't understand it, the vocals act like an instrument, creating atmospheric soundscapes that compliment the generally sparse or droning music. If the lyrics were in english, they'd have to be tear-jerkingly profound to live up to the tonal quality, so instead, all that matters is that his enunciation and flow is on point.

I really like the 'Dinossauros' track.

Tons of it. usually, I pick up 80's records when I'm on holiday from wherever I am, although I have lenty of 80's stuff from countries that I've not been to yet - Holland, Russia, Japan and Argentina desu. Also English word foreign music (America).

I also love music from the Empire, of which plenty are not in English.
