I love this movie and the soundtrack. I'm glad it came out in my generation and I enjoyed it because I will be nostalgic about it, I should definitely start listening.

Nah, life just sucks in general; you've just got rose-coloured glasses for your highschool days because that was probably a time before your optimism had been crushed. There's something nice in the uncertainty of the future, until you arrive, disappointed.
Currently in highschool and I can tell you it's mostly uncontrollable emptiness, anxiety, insecurity and depression.
Worst part is that I'm not even that weirdo who lurks in the school library at lunch. I have a normal highschool life, experiencing all the typical, heavily romanticised aspects of adolescence. It's nice at the time, and helps temporarily abate the stresses, but ultimately not very fulfilling.
Starting to realise that the best way to get through life is to become completely obsessed with something.
