Hey /mu/,
I'm really into psychedelic music; folk especially. I'm a big fan of Jefferson Airplane and the whole west coast late 60's scene, but when other people listen to my shitty music (saying it so you guys don't have to), they criticize it because it's all just old hippie music.
But when I try out some neo-psychedelia like Tame Impala or the Brian Jonestown Massacre, to me it seems overly distorted, disorientating, and loud. Are there any good new psychedelic bands that are much more laid-back and softer?
I'm looking for stuff like this:

All of the new, popular psychadelic bands are very punchy sounding. So if you're into that 60s folky psychadelic stuff you most likely are not going to find a band you like that's modern.

I already knew about that band. Spencer Dryden, Jefferson Airplane's drummer, played with them for a while. I'm looking for stuff outside the sixties because I already exhausted that entire era.
