I have over 10,000 plays of AiC + Soundgarden in my last.fm library. Through my objective analysis Alice in Chains is clearly the more interesting and better band. Soundgarden is kinda hollow compared to AiC. If Soundgarden didn't have arguably the best vocalist ever they wouldn't be anywhere near as good.

I went through STP's discography months ago when it was apparent that Scott was in rough shape and would probably be dead by the end of the year. They had some good deep cuts, but their radio hits for the most part were pretty bad.
