How come busta rhymes always makes these insane appearances on albums and just dominates everywhere, but he doesn't have a successful solo career of his own? I never see anyone talking about busta rhymes. I mean, listen to his verses on tribe's album, listen to his verses on slum village's album. He's insane, he has original style, he has the most infectious flow. I don't get why he's not more legendary.
His videos are cool.
Maybe his solo stuff is just too much of a good thing.

But he is legendary OP, just can't be fucked to make a record is all
>woo hah
I feel like a lot of rappers are like that. There seems to be very few hip hop artists i can listen to without it being some type of colab. Like when ever i listen to wu tang clan i get all hyped to check out all there solo shit but its just not the same. Even the more sucessfull ones like method man, just are not as good on there own.

he had a plenty successful solo career from the mid 90's to probably the mid 2000's
patchy quality but still successful

His first two albums were very good. He lost his power when he cut his hair.

iirc busta followed the dr.dre route and went into the business side of hip hop and doing verses when he felt needed

I think this is probably correct. He can dominate a single track because he's so unique, but it's kind of a one trick thing that doesn't make for a diverse album experience

This makes a whole lot of sense, that basically answers my question.
Busta hasn't done anything interesting or of note in at least a decade and a half.

Same with Luda, everybody got fucking boring after 2004.
