Wild Nothing are from my town. There's a substantial bluegrass scene around here that I'm just now starting to appreciate
from my hometown in South Dakota: literally nothing
in DC, where I live now: all the hardcore bands people know and love. I'm not really into Fugazi though (if I'm listening to hardcore I like it less poppy/more chaotic.) Favorite local band is probably Paperhaus (and Priests if they count, although they're actually known outside the area)

Every time I go to Austin and see random live music I think more and more that's it's just the "shitty indie capitol of the world".
