Can you guys rec the most sincere, no-holds-barred albums you know of?
I don't mean sincere in the le Frontbuttums sense, or Sun Kil Moon, where its painfully trying to be sincere, I mean like pic related, there isn't any irony and full of really honest, gooey songs.

you have literally no sense of irony
this is the ultimate sincere album
fight me
person pitch is close

...that's my point, though. There are certain artists that have a following because of how 'sincere' they are, where ironically enough it's only artificially sincere, forced sincerity, hiding behind 'look how relatable and honest this is' instead of saying anything.
This applies to most teen bands like Frontbottoms/ Modern Baseball/ whatever, but also extends to SKM, sorry to burst your bubble.

good album, PP is kind of a let down, though. I can't get into most albums where there is only one dynamic, one tempo, one vibe throughout the whole album. Like, I get it, you're singing with breathy and spacey vocals over a psychedelic and atmospheric instrumental, maybe add an interesting melody or two.

>only one dynamic, one tempo, one vibe throughout the whole album

I've only listened to PP within the last week, oddly enough, so maybe I'll re-listen.
It might be like Feels, for me, where I found it to be pretty boring until Banshee Beat. I'll re-listen, hopefully I find some gems.

Every woman that I've slept with
Every friendship I've neglected
Didn't call when grandma died
I spend my money getting drunk and high
I've done things unprotected
Proceeded to drive home wasted
Bought things to win over siblings
I've said awful things, such awful things

What the
Have you never heard Hank Williams, OP?
>>60851887
The song where he's like "excuse me have you seen my mind?" And you can hear the insanity in his voice is both soaked in irony and sincere as fuck, so heartbreaking. Especially when you know how badly mental illness destroyed his life

As I said you don't know irony at all. SKM writes ironic lyrics - not artificially sincere, not honest, ironic - and any listener who's not retarded has got the joke.
Roky Erickson's The Evil One is pretty sincere. He had just gotten out of a mental hospital and everyone was expecting him to either do nothing or do the same psych rock he did with the Elevators. Instead, he said "I don't care about any of that shit anymore" and put together a hard rock album about his favorite horror movies.
I'd also say a lot of Jonathan Richman's stuff qualifies.

except there's nothing to suggest that in his music, nice reading though

The Beach Boys I Love You. Some of the songs on that are almost unbearably sincere.
