ROBTTH>Parachutes>Viva>X&Y>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Mylo Xyloto>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ghost Stories>the new one
This is correct right?
It really is the best bedwetter rock album.
I had a dream last night where I came to blows with Chris Martin over writing The Scientist tho. That was weird given that I haven't even listened to it in ages
Parachutes was better.
It was my favourite album when I was 12
Can't really stop liking it

Parachutes is comfy as fuck, but it does basically sound like he listened to Subterranean Homesick Alien on repeat and went "I wish all pop songs sounded like this"

I actually agree. Coldplay has always sounded a lot like their influences.
However I just feel like in Parachutes, they did not have the pretense of being a world-famous act to ride on, so they relied entirely on good songwriting.
The songs on Parachutes are not all that original, but they are still very solid tunes. Shiver, Sparks, and Everything's Not Lost are excellent melodies.
I feel like on ARoBttH they liked the fame that they got with 'Yellow' so they were all "ok let's be like U2 and make anthem rock now", which took away some of the more consistent songwriting and put out more trivial melodies. There's still some songs on A Rush that are better than anything on Parachutes, but Parachutes, as a whole album, was a little more consistent I feel.
Both good albums tho.
