Why is this so underrated?
>>60827028
It isn't?
it's widely regarded as the greatest Grime album of all time
why is he so underrated?
>>60827028
It's considered a classic. What more do you want?
Only reason it could possibly be considered "underrated" is because it's a grime album and grime music aside from this brilliant record is really bland and shitty.
Will grime ever be good or popular, lads?
Honestly, most grime nowadays is the equivalent of rap bangers you'd hear in a club so I doubt it'll ever be a decent genre but I think Skepta is getting fairly popular.
>>60828042
Grime is bangers. That's the point mate. And it'll get big if Skepta capitalises on his rising fame in the states. I think he has been signed to OVO records but dont quote me.
>>60828042
That's what grime is.
Club bangers with an angry black man shouting stuff over it.
And skepta is fucking shit, he makes the worst kind of bait grime.

A lot of early grime was pretty chill actually.

They weren't all bangers.

Everyone in grime has their embarrassing moments.

>Underrated
>The only grime LP /mu/ knows about
Sure.
>>60829085
Everyone in Grime either sells out or ends up in prison, no exceptions. We're lucky Riko Dan was in prison before he got famous so he didn't sell out nearly as much as some of the other guys.

I used to be into Grime
Dizzee, Skepta, Wiley, Kano and Roll Deep were all consistently good in a specific era iirc

I fucking love this guy.
>>60829921
I wish some grime MCs could actually start to focus on lyrics.
The instrumentals can be so good but the MCs are terrible 90% of the time. When the bars and the instrumentals are good the track is fucking fantastic.
These days it's just become a UK version of trap. It's laughable really.
>>60829921
>emotional grime
Most of these tracks are about beating people up just like the rest of them.

Another cowboy who doesn't "get" grime.

"That's the time. Grime is not deep, it's vulgar and violent and dirty. That's why it's called grime innit?" he wrote as he sat in his 6 bedroom home in Hertfordshire.

Axiom EP?
>>60830074
The main issue is that since the beginning 90% of Grime bars are essentially multiple ways of saying "I'm a better MC than you/I can beat you up in a fight."
There are some who used to put way more effort into it though.
