All the patterns I make myself from scratch but anything I sample I usually reverb it or distort it some way so the plugins might make it bigger cums sounding. It could easily be fixed with the volume mixer but I prefer the samples to be louder like that

Yeah, of course. He send me audio of his drums and I recorded two layers of synth on it. I know it's possible to record midi notes, quantise them, and send them back to my synth, but I don't mess around with that, I feel much better just playing, twisting knobs and recording the audio.
