No, because a 3.0 is "good." The next rating down is 2.5 which would be "average."
I'm saying a 3 is "bad" because its a beloved highly rated album, so calling what most users call a 5 a 3 is bad by comparison.

Exactly. Compared to the legacy of the album and the views of a majority of people that have listened to it and rated it on a score of 1 to 5, 3 is pretty harsh. He is acknowledging that it is good, but it is nowhere near the hype that proceeds the album.

I don't like the vocals, I think they detract from the music whereas Deafheaven's complements it perfectly. But maybe it's just because I don't care for vocals that sound like the singer sounds like he's in pain/agony, because I don't and can't identify with that.
I also think the music is very flat, whereas Sunbather, and to a greater extent New Bermuda, have a lot of diversity in the songs and it's not just one great big wall of sound like All Fours.

Honestly it just reminded me a lot of other avant-death releases who try to capture that atmosphere of Gorguts (specifically Obscura) and Demilich, and while it is better than a lot of those avant-death bands i still just prefer to go back to those 2 album
