Paul is very adamant in not "revealing" what his lyrics mean. Mostly because he just wrote whatever he thought fit the music.
I'm willing to bet his lyrics started having "meaning" (that he intends for the listener to pick up on) only on some tracks in Antics. I don't think he actively tries to write a meaning for all their songs. And this doesn't really take away from how good some of their tracks are.
