I love this kind of mysterious shit. Strange duo of artists, strange album theme, strange music.
Does anyone have any experience making tapes or CDs here? How much would a run of about 50-100 cost?
Also, if I were to make any, would any of you buy them?
>>60792213
Hello,
It really depends on A LOT of factors.
CS- what quality tapes? what type of tapes, how long is the release?
CD- what kind of cases? Pro Discs or CD-rs?
https://officialdtb.bandcamp.com/releases
>Indie
>Rock
>>60792258
For CS, about medium quality, for a 27 minute release
CDr is the most likely if I do CDs

>>60789687
>>60792299
I put out high quality chrome C30 tapes with standard cases and 4 panel J-Cards and it ran about 200 bucks. SO I guess no more than that.
CD-rs are cheap as hell
>>60792488

I made this and it was very hard to make it sound like this.
>>60796162
How did you guys record this? Its so damn clean.
>>60796311
The drums were tracked live with bass and guitar at my friend's ribbon microphone place in pasadena. We ended up not liking the guitar or bass tone (it just sounded really flat and had a lot of problems with it, everything bled over everything). We tracked guitars and vocals at my guitar player's house, my distorted bass was mic'd at the amp and a clean tone was DI'd, my guitar player blended the tones together. The guitar was essentially the same, some of the clean tracks are from the early original recording date, mixed together though. Bass was the hardest to record, because I had a piece of shit amp and nothing sounded good. We recorded the original drum tracks in september, and finished recording everything else in July. It was very stressful and I cried a lot :'( but it's the album I've wanted to make since I was 15. It's worth interrupting your day to listen to it, if you like the two genre's I've listed.
>>60796487
Wow, I admire your commitment to getting the record to sound like what you imagined. I think a lot of us here could learn something from you guys, lol
