I'm very into psychedelic music too, but strangely enough the most distorting and incredible musical experience I've had was while listening to Helpless Child during Soundtracks for the Blind.
That shit was so fucking beautiful and took my conscience to a state I've never been before and I was entirely sober

I like psychedelic music too, mostly for the spaced out or dissonant soundscapes and the faded vocals.
I often look for a tired, ambivalent sense of melancholy or a sense of being swallowed by a universe of sound, this is the stuff that you can get with some psychedelia
