I've been listening to dub all day.
I really like how sparse it is. There is so much space between whats going on in the music.
Is there any music out there that specializes specifically in this idea of negative space in music?

That´s what makes dub unique. Real dub is made by the guy at the mixer, not a musician. So he stripped regular songs to drum and bass without caring for lyrics or solos and improvised .
I´ve read somewhere that King Tubby was a jazz fan and liked Coltrane, Miles Davis and Ornette Coleman

maybe you're thinking of dub techno. the two genres do have a lot of crossover though. most notably a la Basic Channel, Porter Ricks, and Monolake
