you have the taste of someone half oyur age
27. it changes constantly like anyone else's taste i imagine? the only discernible difference between me and someone younger is that i am more likely to revisit soundtracks for games/movies since i don't have as much free time.
I'm 33. Lately it's been a lot of 80's synth pop and bands from my local scene. I probably spend more time writing music than listening anymore, though.
>>60792549
and you have the orthography of someone a third your age

A lot of nu jazz, IDM, 90s alternative rock and math rock

Mostly Jazz and classical, you'll soon realize, that although pop is fantastic, its doesn't have much lasting potential. Or at least loses some freshness over the years
>>60793115
This, but I can always go back and enjoy pop though
I'm 26 and I listen to garbage. Pic is last month's 5x5. Haven't really browsed mu much since 2013 or so. I just pop in for a few minutes when I'm bored sometimes.
>>60792451
I hope you play old school mode
Sea shanty is really such a banger.
Also partial to the gnome king
>>60787721
Mostly Highbrow bullshit, just cause I'm fucking tired of pop-music sameness at this point. I still enjoy me some blues and rock/hiphop etc everyonce in a while, but I rarely find my self actively listening.
metal music
>>60792926
I bought the DJ Shadow album in 1998.
Someday you'll reach an age where you don't try to impress people with obscurity. It's not my fault you all turn some of the best music ever recorded into "memes" and can no longer enjoy them.
Or maybe you think to love music you have to graduate to post-whatever, kraut, noise and concrete.
Which is fine. But once you graduate from being a tryhard, you go back to what you love.

Nah. you are Evan.
>>60787721
I'm 26, and I mostly listen to freak folk, normie-tier hip hop, and post-rock.
26, mostly post rock (also what our band plays) and then a mix of everything else. I don't really listen to any chart music, not that I'm above it, but because it's mostly the same stuff but a different medium.
I've been listening to a bit of stoner doom, I really like deep house and hip hop of all sorts. I still go back to my favourites like pink Floyd, yes, a lot of live blues and I really dig some of the electronic stuff going around like John Hopkins and Nicholas Jaar. Darkside was epic. Been re listening to alot of delta blues too. Something really neat and minimal about it. I also like the idea if marginalised people expressing themselves through music. Probably ties in to some of the rap I like.
Thanks for listening mu :) and also thank you for all the new music you guys have shown me over the years.
>>60792945
Do you have the shoegaze one?
>>60796622
i've just found it, thanks!
>>60787721
35, listen to pretty much everything, from death metal to rap to jazz to disco. currently obsessed with old soul and r&b.
don't really like doing the favorite albums thing, but top 5, off the top of my head -
A Perfect Circle - Mer de Noms
Ozzy Osbourne - Diary of a Madman
Cat Stevens - Teaser and the Firecat
Slayer - Hell Awaits
Tom Petty - Full Moon Fever
>>60796338

My creaking knees and increasingly struggling heart.

This needs to be in the sticky.
>>60792451
Are you depressed?
currently: library, exotica, new age tapes, pre-65 country esp. bakersfield sound, spiritual jazz, minimal techno, ambient, + 2015 best-of playlists (including pop) to see what i missed.
rarely bother with hiphop. check out the new releases and mixtapes, but the genre does nothing for me anymore.
copy/paste ^^^ about metal, reggae, punk, post-(punk, rock, etc.), folk, general sadboy shit...
overall: less emotional, less negative, less aggressive, less loud.
>>60787721
Math rock, shoegaze, tryhard dissonant shit.
Ten albums I really like:
The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute
Pale Saints - In Ribbons
Placebo - Battle For The Sun
Murder By Death - Red of Tooth and Claw
Yowie - Cryptozoology
Shudder To Think - Pony Express Record
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Option Paralysis
Mew - And The Glass Handed Kites
Protest The Hero - Kezia
Finch - Say Hello To Sunshine
