I want to tell a story and explain why only one song can make cry.
>be me 2009
>11 year old me
>lived in Oregon for about 2 years
>Mom comes home one day and brings a dog she adopted from an animal shelter.
>Her name is Poppy
>fast forward about a year poppy and I are best of friends
>go on adventures and shit nigga
(back ground info, my father left my mother when i was a very young child and hadn't contacted us)
>My mother receives a picture from one of her friends
>its a picture of her friend and my dad at a concert
>we get in touch for the first time in 11 fucking years
>we arrange to drive out to Cali to see him
>we decide to bring poppy because "it'll be an adventure" my mom says.
>we get out there and I have a fucking blast.
>Giant fucking redwoods with a couple rope swings

>later that night poppy attacks my dad's little kitten because she came to close to me
>I said to poppy "I hope you fucking die"
>We go to sleep and I feel bad for saying something like that to my best friend.

>I see poppy chasing after the car running along having a fun time
>Don't think too much about it as i see both the car and my best friend chasing after it
>about 20 minuets later I hear this horrendous bloody squeal

>dad and are both freaking out me especially losing my fucking mind
>I see my mothers car hauling ass down the road towards us
>she screeches in front us
>She jumps out of the car with tears running down her face
>I dont want to ask

>I ask what happened
>I Hit Poppy.
I swear in that instance my entire world stopped

>dads girlfriend offers to drive them to a vet
>Mom tells me to say goodbye to poppy
>there is a towel over her because she doesnt want me to see her body
>As I go to say my final goodbye we lock eyes and I apologize for all the mean things i have ever done
>they speed off in a hurry
>11 year old me thinks she is going to be ok
>5 min later I hear a gunshot
>I wish I hadn't heard that fucking gunshot
>The gunshot that took the last breath of my best friend
>my moms car rolls back slowly up the road
>Turns out they didn't plan on going to a vet
>they went to my dads girls fathers house to have her put down in a more humane way.
A few hours later we bury her in my dads yard
On the drive back to my house i brought a portable DVD player but made the mistake of only beinking one movie
