Is anyone else super OCD about last.fm?
I delete and recreate accounts all the time for no reason. I also never let plays that are not consecutive tracks for a complete album stay on my charts.
Am I crazy and alone?
>>60771498
If it makes you feel any better, I've listened to things I don't necessarily like just to try something new and hated that it seems like enjoyed it.

Literally fucking me. I'm considering deleting my account just to relog all the scrobbles and make everything accurate again because they removed the feature to clear all scrobbles.
with some luck image uploading & voting will be back today

I just want profile bios back so we can post the chart and band logos again..
do you even get a notification or something when you get followed?
>>60772774
Nahh.. I got people in my shout box talking the other day and no notification or nothing..
>>60772774
nope
this is what they had to say about that
Correct. It's a subtle distinction, but mapping friends is a binary relationship (either we're friends or we're not), whereas following supports both reciprocal and non-reciprocal relationships, which we hope to build more social recommendations off later. However, I'd argue that Mutual follow = friend only makes sense up to a certain point. If I follow my neighbour, and they follow me back, that doesn't mean we're friends. It suggests that we might become friends, at some point, but not necessarily. Friends and followers is certainly more elegant copy than Followers and People you follow, but it's not necessarily an accurate representation of the connections on the site.
Some people are saying "Friends" sounds more social, but I don't think that was true in practise, evidenced by the fact that many people had "No random friend requests!", or "Don't send me a friend request unless...", or "I only accept friends requests if..." on their about me. Why did they feel the need to do that? I think because it was a hassle having to go through your list of friend requests, and making an arbitrary decision on whether to accept or deny random friend requests from people you just didn't know. I think the friends system added unnecessary friction when it came to connecting with people, which is not what you want from an 'open' social network. Then there's friends radio, which hardly anyone used -- I guess because even though people are friends, doesn't necessarily mean they're musically compatible (which again, contributes to social friction: "I'm not going to accept your request because, even though we're friends IRL, it's going to mess up my radio").

yeah I don't really see the point of following anyone anymore. It's not like I'm going to check their profiles everyday to see what they're listening too...before the changes they had a small section of "what are your friends listening to" so that was nice...
.........Notifications need to be done, certainly. I'd rather see core functionality restored first (like groups), but it's outstanding work that needs to be addressed, and I'm sure will be. In addition, we need to give you reasons to follow people -- it doesn't make sense at the moment, because you don't get anything back from it (compared to say, this is my jam or soundcloud, where following people directly contributes to your playlist stream).
already following a bunch of you
