Rock and roll in its original format was primarily a singles driven genre instead of an album focused one. Loud, Fast and Out on Control has almost all of the essentials of the early genre.

If you want old-time music (let's define old-time as pre-World War II) Yazoo, Document and Dust-to-Digital are all great labels for music of the time period. All of these are compilation based labels, don't know if you're being specific about actual albums from the time period.
