My girlfriend had a friend over and a friend of hers was coming over to pick her up but was going to stay and hang out. It goes down the line until it would have been my hit and he just skips me. I just said fuck it, I don't care enough and went to my room. I don't understand how he'd come over, knowing I live here, and share with my girlfriend and not me.
About 15 minutes later I overhear him talking about how he's so chill and and he'll smoke share with anyone.
I mean, I'm not going to force anyone to share their stuff, but I thought the gesture was completely rude, which isn't surprising honestly since this guy has a reputation for being a prick.

>>60744574

>>60744669
Cletus>SMRC>Fas
>>60744784
SMRC doesn't have the nuance that the following two do. it has nice riffs but not the labyrinthine, alien architectural feeling. plus it's way too fucking long. Paracletus does have my favorite songs of theirs (wings of predation and abscission) but Fas interests me the most. which is weird since i used to hate it.
>>60744933
SMRC is too long, my biggest gripe as well.
I quite like how Drought is so short and straightforward, benefits the EP a lot.
>>60745001
drought is pretty cool, i don't think of it as much of a step forward from paracletus though. just the same style with maybe a tad more post-hardcore influence.
>>60744933
carnal malefactor is my fav DsO song
>>60745001
>>60744933
SMRC is long, but if you cut out the bonus songs like Drink the Devil's Blood and Malign Paradigm it's only an hour and 10 minutes, which is a bit more manageable. The album is supposed to end on Carnal Malefactor.
Admittedly the 40minish long other releases do of course feel better, and the 20 min individual EPs even more so.
Nothing kills 20 minutes quite like a listening of Mass Grave Aesthetics, Diabolus Absconditus, or Chaining the Katechon.
>>60745112
drink the devil's blood is a bonus song? weird place to put it. i knew about MP, never cared for either and now i maybe know why.
>>60745190
Drink the Devil's Blood is an old song that they redid the lyrics for to fit the theme of SMRC. It's a good song in my opinion, but you can tell it's kind of just thrown in at the end.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoBk-HLFDcI
Each party of SMRC is divided between Prayers. First Prayer, Second Prayer, and Third Prayer, and then you have Carnal Malefactor. Carnal Malefactor is essentially Fourth Prayer, and the finale of the album.

>>60745934
the drum tone is fucking amazing honestly. it feels very organic, it's not just the same pinging. there's a lot of nuance depending on how he's hitting it.
I actually haven't listened to DTG much, I'll try them but straight-up slam and deathcore aren't my thing very often. I think this demo is more Brodequin/Orchidectomy-esque than outright slam personally, it's got a lot of atonal tremoloing and precious few slamming riffs
Fuck me, I forgot how great the first System album was

No, I think sometimes you just need to accept your failures and not go chasing after the past. Things change, people change, it seems foolish to pursue fond memories as if they'll translate well into the present. I've chased after past before and it's only left me feeling worse than if I just let it go, so I'm not going to do that.
>>60746146
I was pretty indifferent to it, I wouldn't say I liked it. Like I said before it's pretty weird. It's like death/meloblack that's really driven by the lead guitar, and I didn't care much for the eastern sounding melodic phrases most of the time. The mixing is also weird.

Except that every people is pathetic most of the time
Usually about things that make them happy
Living is pathetic anon, mankind always try to idealize itself, to find heroes and models but most of these are false or abberations.
Being pathetic means not being strong or good enough to be that model, to fail and for yourself or people to know it. And everybody is as much a piece of shit as you are
If you catch up with that girl you'll maybe get a date, if you don't you would at the absolute worse have been insulted and rejected. If you don't, you'll feel that you deserve to be rejected. There's nothing more pathetic in trying to get good things than in life in general.

this is really amazing, VERY close to Wormed's songwriting (I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, considering the band's history and the Phelegeton cover, but it's very rare to find bands at all similar to Wormed). like with Exodromos it'll take me a long time to figure out how the tracks are structured but god damn if the bookends aren't good. Vile Effect Momentum has a really sick ending.

>>60746461
appreciate you asking. like i said much less extreme version of that story, good online friend promised we could talk today, its her birthday so i wanted to wish her happy birthday over speech but right now it really seems like she's just avoiding doing that at all. this tends to happen a lot with her and it always makes me more angry than anything.
but anyway yeah metal for this shit feel

I had just bought a hoodie from Terratur Possessions too, but they ran out of my size. Talk about small miracles lmao.
>>60746567
i mean to be fair he was going through a pretty chaotic time but he stopped responding to calls and facebook messages and after the tenth time waiting hours for a reply i just gave up
i mean it's always awkward when someone clearly has a large friend group already and you have no clue who any of these people are. i didn't feel like we had much potential, even if i thought he was pretty cute.
>>60743021
Horrible. I don't even know if that shit could even be considered music. It's just annoying noise.
Do you guys think the new Dream Theater album has any potential?
The concept and ARG are beyond autistic, but they haven't done a double album for a very long time.
>>60746634
Dream Theater hasn't had any potential since like Images and Words, so no.
My favorite made up atmoshit genre is goosecore

>>60746617
jej. I feel that. The friend group thing. I have no excuse though, I just get tired of people and cut off all contact with them. I've done that to people I know IRL too. Needless to say Im running out of friends.
>>60746634
>Do you guys think the new Dream Theater album has any potential?
Nope, without meming
>>60746603
>DsO bandcamp
Ehhh? That can't be re-
"Online as of today : https://deathspellomega.bandcamp.com

Well I'll be damned.
>>60746667
I haven't been this excited in a long ass time.
>>60746667
Oh fuck it is so happening guys
>>60746634
It will have a few good songs but a ton of mediocre stuff and shitty rock opera sections. I'm predicting cringeworthy dialogue and samples as well.
This is coming from someone who liked BC&SL and ADTOE
>>60746050
I cut all contacts with my friends and most of my family 3 years ago because of depression, I regret it more and more every day
at first you think "hey I'm gonna get my shit together next month and just say hi" but the month quickly turns into years and it just never happens
it sucks senpai

Multiple items only, but may be worth it.

>mfw 45 bux shipping for 5 vinyls and a hoodie
I just sent them a message on bandcamp, but I'll fucking pay it idgafffffff
>>60746942
Eh, I don't want two things. Just the Paracletus hoodie. I already have a Drought shirt and I don't have a record player so I'm not interested in vinyl.
>>60746967
I'm debating a hoodie. I kind of like all of them, but in true metal aesthetic fashion, i'm not 100% on either of the designs.
SMRC is the best but I hate how it cuts up REQUIRES
Fas is cool but the bottom imagery looks kinda odd.
Paracletus is just so... plain but definitely the most aesthetically pleasing.
>>60747053
>Fas is cool but the bottom imagery looks kinda odd.
Yep, would be much better without it
>>60747053
I felt the same. I think I'll go with Fas though.
>>60747212
Yea I've settled on Fas or Paracletus now. Guess it really depends how bad that bottom of imagery really looks.
So guess it's safe to say looking at about 60+ total yea?
>>60746556
>>60746574
Looks good.
>Napalm Death, Melvins, and Melt Banana headling in a tour together
I have never listened to a DsO song or album before. Where do I begin?
>>60747540
>tfw they're actually coming to my area
>>60747556
Inquisitors of Satan.
>>60747556
There's lots of places to start. If you don't want to devote to a full album, then check out Mass Grave Aesthetics if you're more used to black metal already, or Chaining the Katechon if you're more into music like Gorguts.

Yea, I think so. I'm really hoping I can work something out for the shipping.

based Melt Banana playing 300 shows a year. I'll never get tired of seeing them. Not to mention, holy fuck, Napalm Death and Melvins together.
most pretentious crap i've ever listened to
what the fuck happened to melodeath? it's pleb shit these days
>>60747998
that was one of my favorite jams of 2014. Though the last half of the record was lackluster compared to the first half.
>>60748095
the astronomical level of pretentiousness is a big part of what makes ne obliviscaris being so enjoyable
>>60748095
>calls itself prog
>generic and predictable

I really liked Indian before they split so I was shocked I hadn't heard about this until recently lol.

>>60748113
what's generic and predictable about them
>>60748195
He did that to me, He would need a lot more than paint to cover up the ugly.
Fellow, DsObros, why do people shit on this album but like Inquisitors of Satan? I don't get it, both albums are so similar.
>>60748380
Because people are retarded.
>>60748380
I'd like that album a lot more if the album was produced the same way as the first half and not just two EPs shit together. Still not as terrible as I was led on by RYM, FIFH and metal archives.
>>60748400
That explains a lot.
>>60748405
I actually really like the production on it. The drums could be a little louder but that's pretty much my only complaint. I also like their first vocalist more than Mikko.
>>60746556
Bretty good.
>>60748431
mikko is a beast on the more recent stuff but the tough frog speak can get boring a bit.
I think a good vocalist knows when to shut up and knows how to mix up his voice and Mikko only does that after Fas I think.
