Yes. I can't believe I dissmissed them in the past. The debut is sort of unpolished but enjoyable if it matches some of your sensabilities, like involved drumming and some thrash/dm flare here and there (it's also kinda long), but Dentro del Manto Gris de Chaac is really fucking good. Perfect blend of bm traditionalism and orthodoxy DsO influence. That album completely sold me on orthodox, as I was on the fence before with bands like Watain, Ofermod and Funeral Mist.
Also if you know spanish the lyrics are pretty cool. Never before have I eagerly awaited for the feathered serpent to return and slay the white devil as much as I do now.

Well, you are honestly right in saying that, generally speaking, Western Classical Music is more complex and multi-faceted than Metal, even the proggy or arty underground. night at the opera trails a little behind IFtOS for me
Actually, every song on ANatO is amazing outside of Maiden and the Ministrel Knight, Age of False Innocence, and Sadly Sings Destiny. Innocence and Destiny aren't too deplorable honestly, but when they come and the first few lines of lyrics pass by, I just would much rather listen to the other good songs on the album. The album fucking cooks outside of those songs. IFtOS is kinda peerless though. The aggressive, impeccable vocal delivery and meticulously crafted power metal melodies/riffs gets me like no other power metal album (or metal album in general really)
>>60726956
Both HoF and OM are doing well and I think they're good pals so possible I suppose. Kind of hard for me to see Matt Pike going back to playing that way.
A new hour-length Sleep song/album with a heavy HoF influence could be pretty cool but might not be exactly what Sleep fans are looking for.
>>60727004
I suppose, I just don't want The Clarity to be all that there's gonna be.
It was great but don't tease us like that.
Om are fine these days, the initial 'holy shit'-factor of Al Cisneros making more music has worn off, I saw them live this week and they sound way, waaay better than they do on recent records, I just wish they'd give Rob Aiki Lowe more to do, he feels tacked on, one foot out of the band, one foot in.
Sleep just announced a show in London, I'm considering it since it's an hour train journey for me.

>tfw nbbmn is over
well time to kill myself then
>>60727639
>not realizing Liturgy are an excellent avant-black metal band
Shouldn't you be listening to Transilvanian Hunger for the 32nd time today?
>>60727574
Same, senpai. Nice chart, btw.
>>60727665
>implying I listen to black metal
>>60727687
Did you like that Ninkharsag?
>>60727687
>dso
>deafheaven
My fucking man. Thanks for the compliments.
>>60727697
So what do you do? Jerk off to Suffocation?
>>60727702
It was 6.5/10.
>>60727720
Mainly listen to OSDM and grind, m8. And some first wave black metal desu
>seeders don't go above 10kb/s
Metal for this feel?
>>60727725
So yeah, you jerk off to Suffocation.
And Napalm Death, and Bathory.
All of which are by no means bad bands, but they're certainly not better than Liturgy.

Leave the hall.
>>60727665
>implying I wouldn't rather listen to any Darkthrone album 32 times in a row over listening to a Liturgy album 1 more time
Yes, even the bad Darkthrone
>>60727775
I'm not exactly getting music, m8. But I did forget about Soulseek.
>>60727574
>>60727758
How appropriate
>>60727775
Suffocation instantly lose points for accidentally creating slam death.
Napalm Death lose points for creating a genre that's stuck around noise music, power electronics and related.
Bathory are arguable, I guess.
I still think Liturgy is a better band than any of the above.
>>60727811
>bad Darkthrone
Doesn't exist sorry m8
>>60727811
A Blaze in the Northern Sky is a fantastic album and Transilvanian Hunger is quite hypnotic, but aside from that Darkthrone are eithee forgettable or boring.
>>60727796
Subjectivity strikes again.
>>60727836

this desu
>>60727832
>goatlord
>>60727832
FOAD is pretty bad, mate.
Circle the wagons and beyond is good though.
Still better than Liturgy at the worst
>>60727836
You forgot Under a Funeral Moon, you monkey.
>>60727858
>Circle the wagons
>good
meh
>>60727757
>you jerk off to Suffocation.
Except I regard them as the reason death metal stagnated so badly
>>60727857
Goatlord is a decent album.
>>60727858
FOAD is great fuck you.
>>60727858
The production on UAFM keeps me from enjoying it as much as I should. It's too thin and it doesn't give me the same rush that A Blaze In does.
I dare say that Aesthetica is better than Transilvanian Hunger. A Blaze In is arguable, but not Transilvanian Hunger, at least for me.
>>60727886
They made some great albums but pretty much killed death metal too. Until Gorguts decided to fix some stuff up, of course.
>>60727883
The title track alone saves the album and makes it great.
hard to believe they were ever good t-b-h
Holy shit, this band is actually really good.
I was expecting lame generic 80s glam.
>>60727940
god damn the two on the right look like they should be drinking coffee at starbucks
band name?

How does that work
>>60728051
google's algorithms are basically a human-created lovecraftian monstrosity
Immolation is so fucking crushing holy fuuuuuuuck
good band or just a meme?
>>60727942
WASP is the only good glam band desu
>>60728885
>riddely diddely
Just gonna start sharing stuff i like.
>Saturnus - Saturn In Ascension
Danish melodic death/doom. Pretty diverse album with some acoustic tracks with spoken vocals. The heavier tracks are got some funeral doom influence. If you like doom you won't regret downloading this.

It's hard to count Goatlord as an album. It's just an old rehearsal that they recorded vocals for because Satyr wanted more money for Moonfog. Hell the original rehearsal is much better in my opinion.
Does anyone else think the production on this album is really weird and muddy sounding? And not in the good way some demos are
Maybe my copy is just a bad remaster or something

>Fjorsvartnir - Legions of the North
Danish epic black. Seems to draw a lot of inspiration out of early Satyricon.
