As a biiiiiig big fan of AC and their weirder stuff, I welcome this push towards shorter pop songs. It'll help them get away from the "jam band for hipsters" image.
Coming from somebody who liked Down There, CHz, and PBMTGR all more than MPP... this is very much a return to their late-2000s sound and i'm really excited for this.
The one thing i realize listening to this is how... not-as-playful their solo works are. As much as i love CHz, i'm glad they're making something that's not quite as dense sonically and conceptually. (I doubt they could make a pop album more dense-sounding than CHz anyway.)

But when I listen to the song (music and sound wise) all I get is beaches and sun (still I'm not saying I dislike the song).
Dadaism is supposed to be something abstract, a return to the instincts and basically as anti art as you can get something to become.

A mix between CHz, Strawberry Jam and little hint of PBVGR and Avey's singing style is more like Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks then previous AnCo stuff.
