I have a pair of these coming in the mail, they were on sale on Amazon yesterday

Anyone know how much of an improvement they are over the 280s?

Hell yeah dude. Just got my pair today.
>>
>>60676168
Don't mean to be a dick (I don't know much about audio gear so I can't recommend anything to upgrade to), but how are you enjoying the 598s? I ordered some not too long ago. Are they significantly better than the 280s?
>>60676207
Nice! How're you enjoying them so far?
>>
>>60676154
I have them and fucking love them. So crisp.
>>
>>60676237
they're my first over-ear pair so i don't know how they compare against 280s (or the special edition that >>60676154 bought) but i love them. excellent sound and very comfortable. i've worn them literally all day sometimes. since they're open back you can't really take them with you in public without filling a room with what you're listening to
>>
>>60676154
Big difference, I believe the 598 has an open back design as opposed to the closed style seen in the 280. I really enjoy open designed head phones. I'm terrible at explaining things so you should look up the difference between open and closed head phone designs.
>>
>>60676330
>>60676364
Wonderful, thank you both. I'll look up the difference, I haven't read about it or used open back headphones before.

Bretty good. I used to own a pair of 555's that were really similar. Hoping these don't have the cracking problem the 555's did.

>>
>>60676898
How the fuck do those even get like that?
Are you playing fucking football with them on?
>>
>>60676898
>>60676330 here two years w/ my 598s and no cracks
>>
>>60676942
Mine started cracking after a few years of constant use. The plastic is really cheaply made.
Went through like 3 of those fuckers.
>>
>>60676898
Damn, that's worrying. Thanks for the warning.

From what I understand the 598s come with a two year warranty so I've covered for a while though.
>>
Got my m40xs today. How'd I do?
>>
>>60676969
Yeah all sennheisers come with a 2 year warranty. Mine started cracking like a year and a half after use and I sent them back and they sent me a brand new pair.
I think this was only a problem with the 555's. They're a damn good headphone other than that.
>>
>>60676964
...wh...what do you mean by constant use? Dose your head pulsate constantly? Do you like, put it in your backpack when you get on the bus and lean against it the whole time?
>>
>>60677015
>Yeah all sennheisers come with a 2 year warranty
wait a sec, do the 280s? I got mine less than a year ago and they're already starting to get iffy. Amazon didn't say anything about a warranty, I looked earlier today.

How do you send them in?
>>
I'm thinking of going from T-90's to HD800

Had a pair of K240s for like 5 years now, served me well for home listening and checking mixes.
Picked up a pair of Beyer T51Ps earlier in the year too, they've become my main choice for casual listening. Recommended if anyone is looking for high quality and surprisingly comfy portables.

Maybe /HPG/ would know the answer to this

If I have a Scarlett 2i4, a pair of headphones, and an 1/8" to 1/4" adapter, how would I go about routing my music to the Scarlett and then to the headphones? I've heard it gives a better listening experience.
>>
>>60678699
I'm interested in these.

I've run all sorts of speakers, owned all sorts of headphones and have settled on the speaker front.

I used se215's at work and am satisfied with them for iem's.

Speakers I have been good with for a while, but dont seem to like headphones for shit, the q701's are probably the headphones I've like the sound the most on but the are very airy at times and the bass has no impact by comparison to actual speakers (including just in my ears) but know i cannot do long term listening with close back without my ears getting too sweaty.

That shit being said, have you actually heard any headphones better or near the k240's or are those just your first and you have no business comparing them to anything else?

ordering these on monday, super excited, they're having a 25% off your entire order until monday. I watched a lot of reviews and everyone says they're great.

I think those may be overpriced because they are sold on the point of being customizable.

186 (with the 25% off) for basically the best shit they got, a 3 year warranty and everything being replaceable. I think it's a pretty solid deal.

You would set the interface as the primary output device.

Depending on what your mobo/laptop is you may do it through the bios (very unlikely) or you do it with the control panel of windows.

It will be somewhat similar to this screen capture, but should either show the drivers for the unit, or the unit itself. Just dig around, if it doesn't show up, you likely dont have drivers installed for it.
>>
>>60678955
Right on, the price is right. Have a good holiday season.

i got the shure se535s, and some akg k-66s that i bring out to locations or if i need to share headphones (field recording, etc). (you can't share ear buds it's yucky)
>>
>>60679174
IMO, the 880's sound better than both the 558 and the 598's. Much better bass, clearer all around. I would go towards something like ultrasones or something like the shure srh840's before I went over to the senn's. Better speakers for the money and should have better bass due to closed backs.

Mother fucker, I just realized you may have meant ultrasone 580's, not mistyped 598's like I had originally thought.

My vote is for hf580's

My current set-up, are my headphones up to par to my sound card?
>>
>>60679235
I'm looking at 580s then, have you tried them out before?
>>
>>60676207
those are the 558s, not the 598s... either you ordered a different pair or you got sent the wrong kind
>>
>>60679474
i was thinking the same thing. im sure it was the hd 598 SE on sale yesterday. Either this guy paid almost the same for a 558 and didnt realize black friday was coming or they just straight up sent him the wrong shit. I'm hoping its not the latter because I also bought a 598 SE from Amazon yesterday
>>
Got some meme50's, are they as good as everyone says they are
>>
>>60679656
i'm using them as a replacement for my dt880s while they're in the shop, there's a bit of low level static to em but otherwise they're great, listen to Haxan Cloak on em it sounds great

I need new IEMs for $40-65, I don't know anything about headphones and I don't know what to buy.
I've narrower it down to
>MEEaudio M6 Pro (pictured)
>RE-400
>Etymotic MC5
>FiiO EX1
>Vsonic VSD3S
Any suggestions?
>>
>>60679945
Shure se215s are down from 200 to 90 USD right now. I bought some and they're fantastic even though its a bit out of your budget they are totally worth it with the sale.
>>
>>60680132
Yeah those are nice looking but they are out of my price range.
Any opinion on the other ones?
I've been trying to gather any information I can on headphones on /g/ for the last few days but that board is a shitshow, nobody who asks for recommendations or opinions get any help yet the /hpg/ threads get like 300 posts each somehow.
>>
Recommended cans with excellent sound stage for $150 or below? I have some warm sounding cozy IEMs already so I'm looking for clarity in these
