Then it was s/t and his blatant clublessness, which bleep never fully recovered from, all the while Angry Dumb Negroe was writing 3 paragraph-long posts every time someone posted about, god forbid, a genre he doesn't like. Let's not forget the train fiasco.
Finally tensnake, not content with ruining /sp/, put the nail on the coffin for /bleep/. Pains me to even write so much about trips but they're the reason our once good community is abysmal. Here's why:
The left is built on conflict with the establishment and it was arguably good and right most of the time, back then.
Now the status quo is mostly fine-ish, so people were looking for something new to complain about.
It's kinda like this Atheism Plus thing that happened, i.e. "It's not enough to support the class struggle, you need to support every single group that is in a bad place."
Right-wing politics generally is focused on preserving the way things are, it's usually pro-establishment as long as the establishment is good and on their side.
