There are ways to utilize aspects of every genre in incredible ways, but that doesn't mean it HAS been done.
Unless it's one of my most or least favourites, I'm exactly open minded about genres as musicians in that genre are open minded.

I think the problem is that most music that one will hear is naturally that which is popular or broadcast regularly, which will also be that which angles itself towards the widest of demographics, and will probably not be the best of quality because of this. Some people think certain types of music are better than other because they have taken the initiative to actively search for obscurer more talented bands than what are usually broadcast while neglecting to do the same for other genres which they will dislike based off what is readily available to them.
