No this is.

>1912
>Heavily influenced by industry
>Factory rhythms
>Heavy pulse
>Quick changes with no transition

>I literally don't know what industrial is
>>
>not Marinetti
>not Pratella
>not Russolo
>>
No it is not the first industrial album. This album does not cleanly fit into a genre category but most of the album could be considered post-rock. This album influenced the most rock and no wave scenes. The actual first industrial album is pic related.

And the term you're looking for is "musique concréte"

The term industrial music wasn't meant to have anything to do with the sound of machinery, that's a meme that was coined later on by Einstürzende Neubauten. Jesus /mu/ educate yourself.
>>
>>60602288
>futurist music is "musique concréte"
lmao and you're seriously telling people to educate themselves after that

lmfao

Check

Russolo is proto-industrial music. TG didn't do shit.
>>
>>60601498
the earliest proto-industrial track i've heard was from a russian? choir from 1920s but i can't find it

there were using industrial sirens and heavy drums. someone knows what im talking about?
>>
>>60602294
Pray to tell me how do the approaches of Russolo differ from what musique concréte set out to do?

far more industrial than Russolo imho
>>
>>60602304
It isn't industrial music for industrial people.
>>
>>60602306
you can't argue that Russolo isn't industrial then proclaim that he's musique concrete instead

you're rejecting retarded in favor of a different kind of retarded
>>
>>60602268

noise is industrial

this
>>
>>60602329
>[musique concréte] can feature sounds derived from recordings of musical instruments, the human voice, and the natural environment as well as those created using synthesizers and computer-based digital signal processing.
Meanwhile you've had industrial, which was inherently derived from punk, transgression, anti-academia and was basically intentionally soulless electronic music created to provoke.

Using the definition of musique concrete, musique concrete is also industrial music. Your description of industrial music refers to it's aesthetics and not to it's sound.

why can nobody define the terms used in this argument?
>>
>>60602383
Industrial music is mostly about aesthetics. When was it not? There's a much broader variety of sounds found within the scene, sound collage being only a peripheral form - from the major industrial artists, only NWW utilized it to a bigger extent (and that owes more to Stapleton's 20th century avant-art fetish).
>>
is vaporwave industrial music
>>
>>60602383
what are the aspects of industrial music's sound that make it industrial music. These one sentence answers that lack definitions of terms are making this a "yes it is, no it isnt " piss battle.
>>
>>60602411
What do you imagine industrial facilities and factories sound like? Field recordings of such places are industrial music at it's purest.
>>
>>60602411
Not him, but it's not a defined sound, it's a scene with some commonplace musical elements that ultimately may or may not be utilized. Kinda like no wave, or canterbury scene, or mods, or whatever.
>>
>>60602432
Well I guess this is closer to a standard.
>>60602433
That kind of ambiguity illustrates why you wont find the first industrial album. The metric i went with was the first type of music that was refered to by the artists as industrial. Musica Futurista isnt defined by the artist as industrial. This does not mean it is without the elements of industrial music. But it does indicate that the focus and direction of the music is towards experimentation rather than specific genre formation. Musica Futurista is more accurately described as a experimental record that influenced industrial music. It is an important record. To classify it as not the first industrial music record does not neccesarily demerit its importance.
>>
>>60602500
By that logic you can cite the Beatles' She's So Heavy as the first metal song.
>That kind of ambiguity illustrates why you wont find the first industrial album

>Musica Futurista isnt defined by the artist as industrial. This does not mean it is without the elements of industrial music.
What are the elements of industrial music? Because back then the definition was as broad as "whatever got released on the Industrial Records label". By 1981 the genre splintered into electro-industrial, minimal synth, death industrial, industrial rock and power electronics. So I suppose one should think about the common root of all these.
>>
I think we can agree that there has been industrial sounding music before so called 'industrial' the genre.
>>
>>60602536
>By that logic you can cite the Beatles' She's So Heavy as the first metal song.
it is
>>
>>60602541
"Industrial-sounding" as in machinery and "industrial the genre" are two completely separate things however.
>>
>>60602552
>heavy psych is metal
wew lad
>>
>>60602536
idk what the eleents of industrial music are. thats why i went with the criteria that made sense.(artist refers to their work as industrial music.). But there is probably a better definition than this. No one has provided it though. I would suspect that industrial music includes abrasive precusion, repititive machine like beats, and large echoey sounding production. These are elements that i hear in records refered to as industrial.
>>
>Not knowing the phrase 'industrial music' refers to TG's label 'industrial records'.
Other artists may have influenced them but TG is one of the first 'industrial' music groups because they created the fucking label it's named after.
>>
>>60602630
>artist refers to their work as industrial music
That criterion doesn't make sense because most early (as in late 70s/early 80s) industrial artists at least initially rejected the term. J.G. Thirlwell was (and still is) especially notorious for his dislike of it.
