Kinda serious question, I don't even know I care but :
When did Kpop surface ? It feels like it was always there to begin with
Is there only girls attracted to genre ? I've never seen a guy attracted to that shit.
Why does this become so much of a thing, since it's all shit ? The albums don't have nothing, the videoclips are the only thing that attract youngas.

If there is a /mu/ Kpop general, my thread belong here.

it's been around since the 90's, i think? kpop only got really big around 2009-ish with SNSD's gee and 2012 with gangnam style
boys and girls, but mostly girls
because it's good pop music, arguably better than most western radio pop
>>60558414
The western radio pop is not that bad, even without videoclips
While kpop is mediocre, the only thing that helped their artists to rise is the korean booty
>>60558462
i like kpop more than most radio pop desu
i can't refute the rest of your post, believe whatever you want
>>60558472
Well that's a subjective opinion against another.
Any rec ? I don't want any childish oversexualised artists (in fact i'll listen to the album without clips), i'm asking for musicians

girl groups:
>f(x)
usually considered one of the better ones? leans towards 'experimental', whatever that means in a kpop context
this is one of my favourite songs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_U1jEo2HhM
>IU
singer-songwriter known for ballad-y type stuff and more jazzy compositions

>BESTie

>EXO

Thanks, not to be rude but the only thing relevant was IU
The rest will fade away as soon as their 13yo fanbase grow
There was a KPOP general when I arrived in 2008.
What I want to know is why janitors delete the /WPOP/ generals? Western pop threads are exactly the same thing.
>>60558711
the entire board is pretty much western pop tho
plus the patrician anti-poptimists are gonna derail the threads anyway
>>60558720
I mean chart topping female pop, not popular music as a whole.
>>60558739
post your waifu threads are pretty much that
unless we're willing to keep sexualisation to one thread and actual discussion to another, there aren't going to be any productive w-pop threads
