post an artist's actual best work and argue in the replies like rabid, pretentious dogs
side discussion: how fucking great is Peter Gabriel III?
>>60530370
peter who?
Melt through Us are all fantastic. Melt is probably is strongest one, I agree. Family Snapshot might be his best song.

That's not security
>>60530405
yeah, I don't know about that one
>>60530413
not like there's any competition there
>>60530526
LMBOOOOOO
>>60530356
I'll post a few, but chances are that the ones that get posted in response aren't going to be in line why I liked said record in the first place.
>>60530399
i think "And Through the Wire" is probably his best, but yeah, it's a god damn thrill ride from beginning to end.
>>60530607
I liked the spanish and all the weird shit and Flea trumpet playing, but there is FAR too much filler in this album.
>>60530735
I suppose I get what you mean, but for me the stuff at the end of tracks and between tracks helps tell the story in a way, because there is a story. It's just that it's significantly harder to get given that the title track was cut off the album. Chances are, if you couldn't stand a lot of the effects stuff, you may not enjoy the title track that much either, but when it kicks in, it fucking kicks in.
I love this album to death, but the outros on 2 of the 5 tracks do wear on me.

>>60530607
Speaking of which, DEAR GOD do I love the drum work on this album.
>>60530800
Yeah I love it too, but I think all the bits that go on a little too long (the end of Cygmus, the end of The Widow, the end of L'via, the beginning of Miranda and the middle bit of Cassandra) sort of disqualify it from being better than Deloused.
With the exception of maybe tire me a las aranas, Deloused is polished to a mirror fucking shine
I find spiderland boring
>>60530896
But the jams leave time to just zone out and get lost in the music. Deloused's lack of those types of passages on top of it's painstakingly tight composition makes for a more tense experience
This is the best Dream Theater album
you know in your heart this is true
>>60530896
The ending of Cyngus actually doesn't come into this for some reason, I can't tell you why. I really wish they could cut half of that whole ending bit of LLvia though and go straight to the jungle sounds, because that part doesn't bother me.
Deloused is still a good album, but I suppose it didn't grip me like Frances did.
>>60530928
Tweez is pretty damn good. it's got that Steve Albini knifes-edge sheen.
>>60530939
There's some parts like that in Deloused, like that part with the running water I remember. It's just that they're more rare and jarring as a result.
No part in Deloused ever came as close to the highs of Francs for me, unless there's something you'd like to refresh me on.

>But the jams leave time to just zone out and get lost in the music
I just think they nailed that effect better in the second half of Cicatriz and Drunkship, and viscera eyes for that matter
>>60531042
and the middle of roulette dares. that shit is god tier.
>>60531222
yeah, no
>>60531256
Animals is a very, very close second. But WYWH gets a narrow victory in my book. Shine On is just perfect, and the album has so much soul.
>>60530588
Wow. I completely missed the point of this thread when I posted. Good thing my replies still fit
This one's guaranteed to start a war.
>>60530928
Tweez is one of the best of the nineties broh
>>60531793
>one of the best of the 90s
>1989
wait what

Are these unpopular opinions? I agree with all of these.

*insert rabid pretentious comment*
nah, great albums but not my personal favorites.
Heroes and Spiderland (duh)
>>60533151
>Are these unpopular opinions?
a good majority of people on here do say Future Days is better than Tago Mago
>>60530607
Cassandra Gemini alone is some of their best material
>>60530607
I honestly can't decide between Frances and Amputechture.
