listening. second one seems more pleasing in instrument sense
>>
>>60506347
Does anyone agree with me that Freewill by Rush is one of the greatest songs ever?
>>
>>60506873
gonna checkout next.
>>60506677
that keyboard after minute five is really doing the job. Great thx
>>
>>60506919
The lyrics in freewill are very relatable no matter who you are.
>>
>>60507012
ı dont pay that much attention to lyrics at first. I only do if ı like the instrumentals. An old habit
>>
>>60506347
I like that album.

I'm a big fan of Red.
>>
>>60507700
Red is the only album ı can say it has no filler songs in it. My opinion only. But all of them are masterpieces in Red
>>
>>60507327
Really impressive. Gonna follow them from my phone. But needs a little more complexity to it ı guess.( only checked one song gonna keep going)
>>
>>60507954
>>60507700
Red, Larks', and ITCOTCK are three of the greatest albums of all time, any genre, hands down
>>
>>60507987
does anyone know how quicly threads die
my snapchat if it dies, feel free to recommend bands, sogs etc. :cemcimcom
>>
>>60508150
Uh you can add me on steam if you want LOL
>>
>>60506574
urfa is a city in turkey btw
>>
>>60508180
sure . give me your steam id. mine is steamcommunity.com/id/loadedcustom
>>
>>60507987
Yeah, Red is top tier, ITCOTCK is good, but the filler bugs me. Tbh, Frances the mute is goat prog for me.
>>
>>60508282
never heard of it (shame)
lemme check
>>
>>60508233
added you, I'm Mangum Christmas

>>60508282
Moonchild I don't see as filler. You have to play that album on speaker and just lie down on your bed in the dark without movement. Just absorb that entire album. ITCOTCK is my favorite album of all time, the musicality of even the DRUMS is mind blowing.

I also agree on Frances the Mute (and De-loused). To me, Mars Volta were the true modern day successor to King Crimson
>>
>>60508367
ı use my marshalls instead of speakers. Gives it a lot more enviroment ımo
>>
>>60508367
and yeah moonchild and ı talk to the wind has a different mood to them but they are perfect in certain times
>>
Lark's Tongue is one of rock music's logical conclusions*.

*The other logical conclusions are Tago Mago, Twin Infinitives, and Well Oiled.
>>
>>60508461
I completely agree on Larks' and Tago Mago. Haven't listened to the other two, are they legit or just cheesy wanky prog?
>>
>tfw you'll never get to experience the prog rock era
>>
>>60508658
You can experience it any time you want, and all it takes is a few clicks and keyboard presses.
>>
>>60508733
Not that guy, but that's not the same thing as seeing artists live etc.
>>
>>60508621
Well Oiled is psychedelic free improv, 3 guitars, bass, drums. Twin Infinitives is incredibly noisy, layered fuckgrunge.
>>
>>60508184
i knew there was a turk in this thread because of the

>>60507327
I prefer his solo stuff. This didn't do much for me.
>>
>>60509701
I found some of his newer demos on sound cloud. Pretty interesting. I kind of got the feeling that most of his albums are solo projects.
>>
>>60508392
What kind of Marshall? How does it not sound terrible and grainy?

Can somebody recommend me something like Fair to Midland? I just love this type of alt-rock nu-prog (it's not nu-prog but I'm calling it that)

These bands
>>
>>60513591
Saved. Thanks for this, will have to check these out, looks exactly what I'm looking for.

What does post-prog mean by the way?
>>
>>60513605
Dumb term made by some rym user
It's basically prog and alt rock
>>
Pink Floyd - Sheep has such a euphoric ending, but its ruined by the first eight minutes.
>>
>>60513591
It's kinda "poor" prog rock, but still
>>
>>60513729
Kinda shit you mean
>>
>>60513737
Some of those are good. It's not shit.

Take the Karnivool album. It might be the best of those ones, it's a good album. Technical stuff that's apprieciable.
>>
>>60513830
Oh and of course I didn't speak about Lateralus cause it's not even debatable.
>>
>>60513830
Mars Volta and Oceansize are the best albums on there
>>
>>60513846
Need to listen to Oceansize.

I can't stand Mars Volta, I can't dig that voice yet.

But I'd take Lateralus, Sound Awake and Feathergun for great albums.
>>
>>60513729
there is loads of good stuff on there are you fucking nuts

if you dont like muse mars volta or coheed i get it but dont dismiss it all
>>
>>60513896
By "poor" I mostly meant the fact that those albums are based on complex structures and rhythm. Prog is a bit more than that.
>>
If I'm looking for extremely spazzy prog rock where should I look?

Note: I don't want any shit like Cardiacs or math rock
>>
>>60514709
bump for reply
>>
>>60510901
Just release Infernal already
>>
>>60514709
Gentle Giant kinda.

My favourite underrated italo-prog:

>>
>>60513947
Not. Really. All of those albums also include a unifying theme. Which is the final bit that makes them prog
