Can we please have a smashing pumpkins thread?
here's a few questions to get us started
>their best album?
>best song?
>best back catalog song?
>most underrated album?
For me it's gotta be Adore, very adventurous given the fame and expectations thrust upon billy and co and to me its a triumph.

Adore. But I haven't listened to anything after that or PI

Most underrated one is Adore. That album has a really unique sound, and a majority of the hate is because people couldn't handle Billy without guitars. But damn, the whole Shame-Behold! The Nightmare-For Martha sequence is fucking fantastic

Not sure really, maybe adore?
It's sad that alt rock will never see a band as good as The Pumpkins : /

It's sad that "alt rock" is even a phrase.

Why?

Alternative? Alternative to what? Isn't literally every other genre an alternative to another?
Smells like record label marketing to appeal to the inevitable counter culture.

Well to be fair just rock then
Luna is one of the most beautiful songs written IMO. Although, I do feel like Billy is too cliche when he says things like "I LOVE YOU" in his songs.
