Whats some G-Funk essentials? I have
>LoR Necessary Roughness
>Snoop Doggystyle
DJ Quik - Quik Is The Name.
DOC - No One Can Do It Better
Warren G - Regulate...G Funk Era
Suga Free - Street Gospel
>>60489061
This.
Ivry - 100s.
>>60489061
above the law's first three albums
Nate Dogg - G Funk Classics
>>60489200
Doesn't give me the same feel as Necessary Roughness or Doggystyle, its more electronic and synthetic.

>DJ Quik - Quik Is The Name
Hmm, not my thing
>DOC - No One Can Do It Better
Thats more like it
>Warren G - Regulate...G Funk Era
Love it
>Suga Free - Street Gospel
Another good one

Nate Dogg is a little low energy for me

>It's more electronic and synthetic
So? It's still a great mixtape. It's still got G-funk too. Listen to it little more.
Dr Dre, Snoop, Warren G, Above the Law, Eastsidaz, westside connection, Dogg pound, tupac, dj quik
but there is a lot of other heavily g funk influenced rap from the bay, houston, no limit etc as well
>>60489498
this dude is the joey badass of bay funk honestly just a bunch of signifiers and not much else
houston rap with g funk influence is better than g funk
>>60489917
really SUC is more lyrically interesting than pretty much any LA g funk rapper i can think of. except maybe tupac. but I put him and pimp c on the same level
Bone Thugs-n-Harmony - E. 1999 Eternal
>>60489998
Tupac wasn't even ever that good.
>>60490478
are you gonna go the rappity rap route with gangster rap? if that's the case then kurupt and xzibit would be the best out of the bunch, and we know that's not true.
>>60490519
Kurupt is pretty great imo. Tupac was overrated by death at a young age, same as biggie, hell, many artists who died young were overrated by their deaths, regardless of genre.

People shit on shis album but it's really great

Most of Ice Cubes albums were acclaimed. Never really seen anyone shit on his stuff.
