I always wondered why people dismiss this guy's music as being pointless wank, to me it always sounded very interesting, far more interesting than most of the music discussed on here anyway.

Quite good solo debut. Literally everything he did after was really, really bad. Insufferable asshole.

His first album is pretty good, but then he goes on overplaying the harmonic minor scale.
He's not as bad as people make him out to be, and the dude's got massive skills but he's too much of an egoist to try new stuff.
Also he speaks so much about classical influence but doesn't really use as much dynamics, and as far as I know he never played fretless guitar even though he's been speaking so much about "trying to imitate a violon"
It's like metal, but DIATONIC!!!
