Love the new singles. I really like how Amber starts out with that Floyd Echoes-ish chime, then the guitar harmonic sample comes in, and the synths start layering. Amazing work.

>you guys have the makings of a half decent emo band
I didn't think we even sounded emo all that much
>it's a shame about the album art and complete lack of drive to write anything that hasn't been done before
Damn. Well im glad you listened! We have written a lot of new music lately, hopefully it's a bit more original. What bands do you think we sound like? And some songs on the album are more original than others, i'll admit that. And i'd like to know how you think we could improve our artwork.
Anything to better ourselves. Thanks for listening
>>60448233
that album art is real bad. Super amateuristic
>>60449454
the whole emo thing is just wishful thinking. not enough people making it these days, thanks to, the popular emo bands. really I'd compare you guys to stuff like bendata bendata or maybe sunny day real estate in my mind, but I could be off by a long shot. anyway, I wasn't really expecting a response, that's sorta why i was overly harsh, some of the songwriting is actually pretty good, i just think you guys need to diversify your sound more, or, hone it more, just do something that sets you apart from every other 90s alt rock inspired band. And as far as the album art goes: it's decent besides that font. it would have been a million times better without it, honestly the best choice for you guys is to just not put your name or album names on album art

did you get banksy to do your album art or what
>>60449592
Hey, no one is ever gonna get better by being coddled. You need to be harsh, but not a dick. Which is what you did, so i greatly appreciate it. And haha, sunny day. Fuck... we get compared to them so much. I'm a big fan of them but we are really trying to stop those comparisons. our new stuff really doesnt sound too emo. More psychedelic and heavier. well some songs are.... Dont quite know how to explain it. we really really really are trying to sound more original. to change our sound up more and all that.
And funny you say that about the artwork, i was one the one who took the picture and made the artwork. originally i wanted to no font on it at all. Because i like the picture so much. But the rest of the band claimed that it needed words on it. So i put that shitty font on there, so im with you on that. Their argument was that without the font no one will know who we are, but no one does any way, we only 500 some likes on facebook. so i didnt get the argument... i'll keep that in mind for the next release. It's tough to get font to look even halfway decent. i see this from a lot of local bands.

Started by listening to Phantasmagoria. Overall, I like it and think it was well-concieved. I dig all the hipstery tape and record effects, but they feel slightly forced. I also really think the album needs to be re-mixed, there's a lot of inconsistent volumes throughout.
Reflection has some beautiful sounds in it but I think it's brought down by the harshness and repetitiveness of the drums.
Arrival/Necropolis is fantastic. Muted, very atmospheric and slightly industrial folk sounding, it makes me think of a fantasy village from a dark time.
Dekishi is nice. The reverb on the guitar and the atmosphere makes me think of the Diablo II music. The distorted guitar took me off guard and sounds a little off-time. When the second one comes in it gets really muddy and cluttered, and I think it needs some more mixing to make it shine.
La Zambinella is nice but I think the inverted distortion noises are too loud and overpower the melodic parts. It could also use something.. more in it. The second guitar picking part that comes in before the end is nice, and I like the naked synth at the end. The sample is creepy sounding, I like it.
Pensivia. The bassline sounds like it's off-time when it's alone. I like what you did to the samples, the reverb is immense. Unfortunately, the drums are really loud and completely ruin the feel of the song up until that point. The bitcrushed noise is really cool, but starts too loud I think. Scream is cool, but maybe just a touch loud, but that could also be an intended effect. The guitar part following is enjoyable and sounds good in the mix. The bass fits there but it's slightly too loud, the drums seem a little more muted and work a bit better. The loud echo tone is too loud. Ends well.
Nice work!!
