I don't share that often but tonight I want to.
I started going to metal show sin 2002 when I was 14-ish. My Mom took me to Ozzfest 2002 and I was hooked. I knew from that day I was going to go to every metal show I could.
I wanted a reasonable life goal with shows. So I put a number at 1,000. I want 1,000 concerts before I die. Right now I stand at 182.
99% of shows I go to are metal. But I like to collect drumsticks of the bands that I am going to see. So I just wanted to share my collection with /mu/ since no one I know truly knows what I have.

Hatebreed is my favorite band ever. I have seen them over 20 times. Matt Byrne recognizes me at shows and throws them to me without question.
So I have 6 of his in my collection.
Slayer is another one of my favorite bands. Obviously they are some of the Gods of thrash.
So here are my Paul Bostaph sticks. 2 from Slayer (2013, and 2014) plus 1 from when he was in Exodus in 2006 on a Hatebreed tour.
I love this shit.
I think 1000 might be a bit big but i respect that. I normally dont collect drum sticks from shows, but I should start up again
Here are 2 from Jason Bitner in Shadows Fall. Both caught in 2013 on Hatebreed dates. They did 2 tours with hatebreed. He personally gave them to me. Great guy, great drummer. Now playing with Flotsam.

I thought so too. I am now 28 and I am doing 25-30 shows a year. I should reach my goal when I am about 65 if I keep up at current paces.
The last 4 years I have done about 30/year. Even after that I cannot keep up. I want more. it's the only thing that makes me happy.
Here are my original drummers from Slipknot. I got Jordinson and Fehn in 2009 in Grand Rapids, and I got Clowns in 2004 at Harpos in Detroit.

I take my music very seriously. I dont know what makes it thrive with me, it just does. Growing up my parents were hippies blast Pink Floyd daily on their system. Even though PF is amazing as fuck, they are not the style I enjoy. I fell in love with the heavy as shit stuff.

I caught Butcher Babies and Amaranthe in Flint at the Machine Shop in Flint on Friday. I am not a huge Butch fan, great to see live though, fun as shit. Amaranthe I have never heard of until day of show.
They BLEW me away.

I do not. I grew up in a family with limited means. Sports/instruments were not considered important because of bills. We had everything we needed growing up, house, good school, love. Extra cash though for sports and such, we just didn't have it.
Growing up though I just fell in love with watching drummers and started watching them like a hawk at every show. So early on in High School and birthdays I requested tickets as gifts. So my parents scrummed up the cash for a few shows a year. (I have awesome parents, the older you get, the more you realize it). So no kits, just the occasional show.
Now that I am several years out of college and doing well, I went from 10-ish shows a year to about 25+. Friday was #182
Right now I am on two band dvds (hatebreed dvd and Devildriver dvd) Just scored tickets for King Diamond in Detorit on the 28th for their DVD shoot. hopefully I'll hit DVD #3.

Thanks. My ears are fucked at this point. After 182 shows, it has noticeably become an issue. Starting 2016 I'll be wearing ear plugs. My hearing cant take much more.
