How much its spammed.

BNM helps.
>>
being spammed and memed to death
>>
Pitchfork ultimately decide.
>>
it's boringness
>>
It's easy to get into, has hipster appeal and gets a good score on p4k
>>
Can I get a legitimate answer please
>>
It has to make girls look disgusted and confused if you try and make them listen to it and most people should be unaware it exists.

You say easy to get into, but as a guy who is new to /mu/, most of this stuff is really fucking weird and not likable. It's not like I am ignorant of music either, it's just usually really weird hipster shit.

It was always this

Cant be popular or universally liked, has to be somewhat experimental, cant be obvious in its influences, cant be even remotely "accessible"

Albums that have been loved by a certain percentage of the board as well as being talked about to death across the board for a significant amount of time.

>says this when MBDTF is /mu/ core
top kek

Also, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is mediocre and grossly overrated. His guitar is simplistic and his singing is pretty shitty.

Two of the albums that are /mu/core were literally chart toppers and have gone platinum.

Spam and Pitchfork, definitely, people are like rats in the laboratory, easy to manipulate.
>>
>>60400889
Honestly, why should I respect the people at Pitchfork's opinion on what music is good or bad?
>>
>>60400910
You shouldnt
>>
it has to be so shitty that it ferments and turns into jenkem
>>
>>60400930
Why does /mu/?
>>
Slightly obscure to most people who aren't into the genre. Slightly edgy but not to the point at which it can easily be mocked. Needs to have at least one song that sounds harsh and unapproachable.
Bonus points for unpredictable structure or melody resolution.
>>
>>60401012
>>60400766
It's a mix between these two. There are no official rules about it.
