Elliott Smith is fucking terrible
I only started to listen to him a few days ago but so far I have the same album ranking. He's a wonderful artist.
>those best songs
woman detected
>Twilight nowhere to be found
I think you forgot something, OP

Eliott Smith is womeme-core in the first place let's not kid ourselves here
>>60386602
literally who
>no Independence Day
>>60386602
>King's Crossing and Distorted Reality absent
Haven't heard From a Basement huh?
>>60387542
Seriously a lot of his best songs are on that album
>A Fond Farewell
>Shooting Star
>Twilight
>>60387560
Not to mention
>no Ostrich Sounds
I really like the guitar on Southern Belle
daily reminder Dreamworks arranged his murder
>>60387542
It took me a while for that album to hit me but once I saw the light it changed my life
>>60387658
It's his best album by far. XO and Figure 8 are nice, but they don't ever use aggression like Basement does. And none of his early stuff is ambitious enough to top it.

It's clear basement was thought out a lot it's a shame he couldn't have finished it himself. Honestly I think either/or is my personal favorite. Not sure I necessarily think it's better - but I just love a lot of the songs on there. Between the bars, 2:45am, Angeles are all personal favorites. But kings crossing, twilight, all such great songs

No, I agree. Angeles, Bars, 2:45, and especially Say Yes are painfully good.
Elliott Smith caused me to have a mental breakdown. It was Either/Or, specifically Between the Bars

>>60386602
>last call
>coming up roses
>big nothing
>pitseleh
>wouldn't mama be proud
>going nowhere
>kings crossing
I know this word gets used a lot here but I rarely use it unless I see something that is that fucking pleb
the "needle in the hay" scene in the royal tenenbaums always gets me
