I would agree with you if this were 10 years ago, but the fact of the matter is now the scene era of bands like MCR is long over and irrelevant, and that dichotomy between those awful scene bands and the tr00 bands of the time like Portraits of Past and I Hate Myself doesn't mean much - the indie stuff persists, and the scene shit is only relevant to a few nostalgic scene kids
