There's a severe lack of DAW descriptions in the wiki. If you're good with your tool of choice, consider writing a paragraph about it.

Remember to use clyp.it to post your tracks/WIP : posting a clyp.it is just providing sound for a question, posting a soundcloud link is making self-advertisement and the thread doesn't need that.
Remember to check other peoples' clyp.it links to keep the thread healthy.
whats a good pad control and what sequencer would work well w/ my kawai xd-5?

Some attempt at synthwave. I have no idea where to take this further. It's just the same bars looping over and over. Any advice?

Boss DR-5 has some god-tier pads and a 4-channel midi sequencer. The pads aren't velocity-sensitive and you can't mute individual drum sounds, though.

kawai XD
Anyone here a fan of the Rhythmic Robot Audio stuff?
Thinking of getting the Shortwave radio and the tape looper synths from them, they look really unique and fun?

Fruity Loops is for childish faggots. There - I said it.
I don't care if your favorite bedroom trap artist made an album on it. It's for children.

Do akai keyboards need to be plugged in to work, or are there battery-powered ones too?
I want a keyboard with MIDI and wireless

I power almost all of my stand-alone gear that can be powered with USB via a USB battery. Shit works superb. I run two fully fledged synthesizers and a desk fan on my mophie battery for at least 8 hours.
