I'm an aspie genius who thought I hated music, because it all sounded like repeatitive, uninspired shit, until I found jazz and new wave. But in the last couple years with Spotify, i've amassed a collection of amazing music which imo is better than any of the shit I see on /mu/. my favorite genres are jazz, downtempo, bossa nova, deep house, drum and bass, synthwave, maybe vaporwave
you guys are pleb tier.
>HURR listening to metal in 2015
>HURR Kpop is good even though it is the most soulless commercial music in existance, where the dancers are hired to perform Justin Bieber-quality pop bullshit
In my superior informed opinion, the purpose and utility of music is that it has a poweful effect on emotion. So this means that the best types of music are those that can create the most unique and sublime emotions.
If you dont LOVE all of these tracks, you have BAD TASTE AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD:

But all you did was prove yourself right.
Really, no one can provide any logical argument of why their music isn't inferior?
well that's not surprising
ive been posted stuff like this multiple times and no one responds, but then threads about metalcore (back to my theory on music and emotion, metalcore is shit it barely qualifies as music) have 50 replies
305 seconds of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJ9CLOEOB5U has more musical quality than 100 metalcore tracks

we only respond with logical arguments to logical arguments. we respond to memes with memes. guess why you're getting memes
>>60362910
No because if you listened to those jazz and those other genres you would know that they usually never exactly repeat, there are always small subtle differences which keep them from getting boring.
all you needed to do to be right was post classical music
but you didn't
>>60363062
>305 seconds of this
i meant 30 seconds. that song does get a little repeatitive, but parts of it are brilliant

what song in particular is similar to Le Femme D Argent?

I like classical music, mainly piano solos like chopin.
imo music is best created by a single person.
i think orchestra's are simply WAY too big and complex for a single person to have complete mastery over it, the way Chopin had complete mastery over the piano.

I have to admit there is something to that. I probably wouldn't listen to it much, but it does seem to activate a different part of your brain.
but I think good drum and bass achieves the same effect, but much more intense, whereas that Merzbow stuff sort of just clears my mind.
example of good DnB: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bwAlpu-PbQ
although as with all music it sounds way better when listen to it while driving or running or something rather than just sitting on your computer where you have distractions.

there's so much good jazz that it would be kind of pointless to post something. plus I like jazz, but out of my top 10 favorite songs I don't think any would be jazz because jazz is just more relaxed, it doesn't achieve the same intensity of emotion as other stuff.
>>60364010
>because jazz is just more relaxed, it doesn't achieve the same intensity of emotion as other stuff.
so you don't listen to jazz, got it.

what is a good entry-level album for bossa nova?
>>60364010
>it doesn't achieve the same intensity of emotion as other stuff
just stop pretending to like jazz senpai, you don't have to use it as an excuse for liking the other shit music you posted in the OP, I love you anyway
ITT: OP makes the fatal mistake of assigning objective properties to music based on his subjective experience of the music in question
>>60364039

post some emotionally intense jazz then
stuff like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Q4nysj04Tg
or this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoympN_vix4
or even this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTtAdnqp-Xg
is close enough to jazz, but is much more intense and satisfying

first you obviously didn't fully listen to what I posted because you didn't have time. With those songs in particular you have to listen all the way through and not be judging it otherwise there is subtle progression that you miss. again I think music is best while driving.
As far as your links, I thought the Charles Mingus and John Coltrane tracks were great, but you can't tell me they are more intense. You could listen to that kind of jazz while doing homework, because its not intense, its relaxed. why do you think Starbucks plays jazz? its because its good background music, because its NOT intense
