I love Laughing Stock and i think it's absolutely amazing, but i don't think it's the greatest album of all time. the first 4 tracks are imo significantly better than the last 2 ~ (New Grass is beautiful, but it's not quiet at the same level of the first 4 songs. Runeii is also very good but the album could have had a better closing track)
In fact, there are two albums that have been inspired by Laughing Stock which i love even more: Pygmalion by Slowdive and Hex by Bark Psychosis. that is my opinion.
