No shit, xenharmonics is just any thing that is not 12 tones equal temperament with a4 being 440
If you force yourself to make a piano songs using only the black keys you are doing a xenharmonic song

>If you force yourself to make a piano songs using only the black keys you are doing a xenharmonic song
the black notes on a piano still fall within 12TET.
If you go and hit a whole bunch of different sized vases with your hand, firmly to create a bell tone, but not enough to break them, you will be making xenharmonic music. as the vases are not tuned to equal temperament (its very unlikely) and still create different tones.
What's north of the north pole?

>If you force yourself to make a piano songs using only the black keys you are doing a xenharmonic song
No, that would mean you're making a pentatonic song.

>north means up!!!!
>>60353742
No, that's quite literally the opposite of what my comment was implying.

Kill yourself
Would 4'33" be an example of aleatoric music?
>>60353905
nope. penderecki's threnody for the victims of hiroshima, or lutoslawski uses a lot of aleatoric elements in his music.
Its basically when players are told to repeat a small chunk of music for a length of time, and not synchronize with other players.
>>60353952
Oh ok thanks. I've always heard the term but I never knew what exactly defined it.
>>60351173
Give it 20 or so years but I reckon hyper-serialism or somthing beyond the current serialism.

Wouldn't there then be a reverse pyramid on top depending on what kind of music you make?
>>60351173

type v looks like pseudo intellectual horse shit

But the greatest works are those that challenge the listener to make his own interpretation, essentially turning him into a creator himself.

on 4'33'' we are the players
therefore it is in fact aleatoric
