ITT: things about popular albums you never understood
>post rock
>slowcore
those are genres, not things
>>60337554
things as in people always say they're those things
i never fuckin got why everyone says that this album has elements or is just straight up post rock or slowcore. i don't hear it
>this person has a trip
>>60337487
post rock doesn't just mean crescendocore fuckwit. and there's nothing slowcore about this
never heard this album. is it really as great /mu/ claims?
>>60338298
I like it but I don't think I'd even place it in my top 10 90's albums. I recommend it though.
>>60337580
people say slowcore because of washer, that's all
it absolutely was a huge influence on post-rock, especially the more post-hardcore influenced acts like mogwai
I still consider it a post-hardcore album primarily tho
>>60338298
just listen to it, it's a unique album no matter what your opinion is
>>60337580
it is very slow paced and it is also really heavy shit for a rock album
>>60338298
a 10/10 for me, it is fucking awesome
>>60338298
One of my few 10/10
>>60338366
>what is for dinner. . .
>>60338298
It's an absolute borefest of mumbling vocals, infantile guitar and go nowhere songs. Avoid at all costs.
>>60338607
sounds like it was too deep for you to be honest
i hear math rock mostly
>>60338607
Pretty much this. And I usually like that sort of thing.
it's progressive rock
really the only genre I think it fits into
